There would probably be problems passing student loan forgiveness if the Republicans continue to be a majority in the Senate.

If the guy would stop committing crimes and impeachable offences (emoluments clause, anyone?) then more time and energy could be focused on governing instead of trying to keep this corrupt president in check. Pretty simple - this is all trump’s doing.

And don’t pretend that partisan politics only works one way in your country. The republicans spent 8 years trying to impeach Obama for being black but couldn’t find a single thing to get rid of him for.

All of that costs way less than the Trillions of dollars the USA just torched in Afghanistan and other senseless wars. $700B+/yr up in smoke while people go without education or healthcare. Ridiculous.

They could have impeached him for supporting Al Qaeda in Syria and Libya and drone strikes everywhere.... oh wait, they supported him on that. Democrats could impeach Trump on launching cruise missile strikes on Syria twice over false pretences....oh wait they supported him on that and gave him billions more to spend on wars. yeah, i always think it's funny how people keep trying to make the nonsense argument that we can't afford to guarantee quality healthcare for all and establish a higher education system that doesn't shackle students with lifetimes of near-inescapable debt when their professional lives are just beginning, but when it comes to tax cuts for people so rich, they could outright buy saskatchewan and devising new and efficient ways of vaporizing palestinian children and remote-control bombing towns from across the world, we have all the money in the world

i have never seen such disregard and contempt for the lives of one's other countrymen as i have seen come from the mouths (fingers?) of americans. i've even seen it argued that healthcare isn't a right. so i guess when they get shot by deranged hoodlums looking for another opiate fix, and they can't afford the life-saving operation that would fix their perforated organs, then they should just die because being healed (for less than the price of a mercedes) is not a right.

i don't understand. maybe it has something to do with their seed population, they were literally driven out of europe after all.

and before anyone says yes i know emergency rooms don't actually refuse to perform life saving operations out of an inability to pay up front, but you get the 6 figure bill later and it haunts you for the rest of your life if you're uninsured. people have committed suicide out of an inability to pay medical bills. so they die anyway.

regardless of how rare it is is shouldn't happen at all in a country that claims to be "number one"

I saw an article/news clip (can’t recall) that said that due to new evidence and email records that there’s the possibility that the House may investigate further, call more witnesses, and draft up more articles of impeachment before sending anything over to the Senate. That could make things interesting.

Also, I haven’t just been skimming CNN/left wing news. I’ve watched some more neutral newscasts from The Young Turks and I’ve also made a point of letting several different right wing propaganda news shows play - various Fox News shows.. the Ingram angle, Hannity etc and once in a while they have some intelligent things to say and question about what’s going on, but ~95% of it is just.. “wow, that’s quite the spin. I can’t believe people believe this crap. BUT, if it’s ALL they ever get their news from, I can see how people could fall for this stuff,” which is, of course, both sad and scary. These people are literally getting paid $15M/year to take to the airwaves and flat out lie to people - their statements are as absurd as saying that up is down and down is up and black is white and white is black, praise be to the orange one sent by God kind of crazy nonsense.

And then there’s even crazier crap, like Mile Adams of natural news posting an “article,” on his newstarget site saying that dems are going to impeach trump and pence and install pelosi as president who will appoint Hillary as vp and then resign making Hillary POTUS asap and that the only way to thwart this evil plan is for 1M armed Americans to take to the streets of DC and take your country back. Like what in the actual f**k? As an outside observer, this stuff is just batshit crazy talk intended as click bait to sell survival gear and vitamins or whatever to fearful anxious fools.. But, chances are there are actually people who believe all of this crap and there may even be some of them who would actually grab their guns and head for DC. That’s some worst case scenario stuff for sure.. probably won’t happen, but, there are some crazy people out there and you just never know.

I say they’re more neutral because they don’t just point out the awful things republicans are doing. They also criticize democrats for their mistakes and missed opportunities vs praise them for being perfect. They’re a much more balanced news source than either CNN or Faux News.
