I’ll have to jump through hoops at the present time to be tested. I have to meet very specific criteria.

Unless many more tests come through, I guess I’m stuck here unless I get much sicker.

It’s definitely a situation where more influential folks have more access to testing.

There will be hundreds of thousands of cases nationwide. Many of these will not tested.

^ Good advice! Buy it and self-isolate. You either survive as mild-moderate at home or, if the readings drop, there will be no discussion to get you tested.

When I consider the situation amongst people and countries, my little inconveniences pale in comparison.

I have slight tightness......but nothing more than what I usually get with a cold.

There are many people positive for COVID-19 who don’t seem to have serious symptoms at all.

China only had 80,967 cases.



Hopefully the thing will spike here today and then start that same downtrend, instead of taking 1 to 3 weeks before spiking.

That’s amongst people who were actually tested. I would bet that there were many less seriously ill who weren’t tested.

I had a funny thought. I don't get many of these. I even chuckled to myself a little afterwards. So it is probably worth mentioning.

I was pondering methods to ensure social distancing. Weird subject! It was mentioned that one of the benefits of wearing surgical or homemade face mask is that you are signaling "stay away". From my perception, this is more of an NT thing. It is wrapped around herd mentality. Is it socially acceptable to wear a face mask? That is the primary driver. If I were in Japan at the moment walking around without a face mask. I would be the odd man out. I can see myself walking down a crowded street and a small child would approach me and hand me a face mask. She would be trying to help me conform to society. In the U.S. society generally doesn't use face mask. So anyone who wears one is breaking a social taboo.

This led to my younger brother. Years ago he bought a car. He didn't have a lot of money so he bought a junker. It have been involved in a collision. Both the back and the front of the car were severely damaged. He had the car repainted. There was a company in Los Angeles called Earl Scheib. They advertised that they would paint any car for $29.95 Well he took it there and sure enough that was the price. But what they didn't tell you was that they only had one color available at the price. It was taxi cab yellow. A horrible color. Any other color would cost substantially more money. But what is a poor boy to do. He had the car painted. I remember he told me that one time when he was driving the car, someone actually walked to the edge of the pavement and tried to hail him as if he was a taxi. But anyway the whole point to this story was that the damage to this car was quite obvious. Any driver going down the street would notice it a mile off and assume wrongly that he was an accident about to happen. They kept 20 miles away from him. No one ever came close.

So the thought crossed my mind that it is very easy to enforce social distancing in modern society. You could almost keep people 20 feet away if you wanted. All you had to do was make a tee shirt that read, "I Escaped Quarantine" and people will literally flee from you. Of course someone may be on the phone calling 9-1-1 to report you and the cops might show up.
