Strange because Antifa haven't driven cars into groups young people or lynched black people on trees...

More deflecting.

I assume this is a self-referencing comment?

To answer Sef's question I'd draw attention to 3%ers and all those ws/wn/wc groups who show up with homemade shields.

But also, it's always fair to point out which political blocs are associated with deadly violence on a regular basis.

This may be true, but no ANTIFA anywhere.
I wouldn't imagine Antifa being interested in a biker jamboree.
Why not? It's the perfect captive audience. I'll tell you why, because they couldn't easily terrorize a bunch of bikers.

Okay, so a fanatic is a person who drives cars into a group of protesters. So that means we have the fanatic locked up for life, hopefully. No more examples? You need more than one for fanatic/s (plural).

59% of white voters voted for Trump.
So if you're white, just look in a mirror and you'll see what a Trump voter looks like.

Does being white constitute fanaticism?

41% didn’t vote for Trump.

If that figure rises at all, Trump is in trouble in 2020.

I don't understand your question.

My point is that, for white Americans, supporting Trump is the mainstream political position.

You need to understand this before you can participate in an educated debate of the topic.

Trump advocacy is certainly not a "mainstream" position on the East and West Coasts.

However you want to put it, anyone who assumes that Trump can't win re-election because his supporters represent a lunatic fringe is sadly deluded.

We need to consider why most of the American posters here are pro-Trump. They aren't KKKers. They are struggling to get by and they don't think "mainstream" politicians care about them. And TBH they are more right than wrong. You won't persuade them to change their minds by insulting their intelligence.

But...what is Trump doing for them?

How am I "insulting anyone's intelligence"?

Really? That certainly can't be applied to me!

I apologize. Despite the fact that I quoted you, I didn't mean everything I said as a direct attack on the point of view you have been expressing. I guess I was mostly using "you" in the third-person indefinite sense.

However, I disagree that support for Trump is not a mainstream position on the East Coast. It may be a minority opinion. It is certainly a minority opinion in the county I live in, but to suggest that people here in Central Maryland who support Trump are outliers or oddballs is dead wrong, even though Maryland (as I believe I said before) is the bluest state in the nation. I really don't want to go into more detail than that.

It's certainly possible to be poor and white without supporting Trump. In fact, as I see it, that is a highly rational stance.

However I suspect most people in Eastern Washington plan to vote for him next year. And are probably angry that votes cast on the other side of the Cascades will cancel their votes out due to demographics.

I didn’t say they were “oddballs.”

I just don’t believe support for Trump is an absolutely “mainstream” phenomenon—especially in the big cities along I-95 and I-5.

Thank Christ for my fellow liberals west of the Cascades!
