Beck is not leaving Fox News. That is all. Won't waste my time responding to anything you post Kraichgauer. Strike 3.

Uh... Then why are other news sources reporting that he is? Oops, that's right, you aren't responding to anything I post anymore. Whatever will I do with my life without you and Beck?

Just a matter of syntax and semantics. Beck is leaving the Fox News TV show, but in a "congenial" agreement, with Fox, he will still be working in the background for Fox. It is to Beck and Fox's advantage to try to present this as a mutual agreement.

But, from what I have read, seen, and heard, most people are of the opinion that Fox initiated the action to take him off the TV show.

Well, I should say, his show is kaput. His insane ravings had cost Fox so many sponsors, and had destroyed the credibility of their news correspondents through guilt by association (the fact that they were working for the same company as crazy), that it was more worth while to cut him loose, despite his following. Now, I suppose we'll have to see if uncle Murdock brings him back sometime in the future. But I won't hold my breath.

I was listening to Talk Radio tonight, to catch the response of his supporters. I heard things like the Saudi's are behind it; it is a conspiracy to tone down all Fox shows; Beck was the only one brave enough to tell the truth, that is why Fox ended the show. Most every comment expressed anger against Fox. The talkshow host didn't disagree with any of these folks, but seemed frustrated at the caller comments.

I think the only way he would be back, is if he convinced them he would tone down the rhetoric; he could have already done that if he really wanted to stay. I suspect those that follow him will continue to support his radio show, or other TV Media Outlet; not likely Beck will change his approach.

Today on his show he seemed as intent as ever on scaring his Audience about the future. He also likened himself to Paul Revere. I caught the last 10 minutes of it.

aghogday, if you actually consider the possibility that he is telling the truth, then yeah his alarmism is actually quite rational and perfectly appropriate.

There are people who are absolutely certain the government is withholding information about UFOs. Just because someone believes something doesn't necessarily make it so.

There is good reason to be seriously concerned about the direction of the country. But, Beck has admitted in the past that he considers himself a Rodeo Clown. His comment of comparing himself to Paul Revere, sounds like evidence of it to me.

His comments appeal to the emotionality of his audience, and I think he knows it. I think it reflects back from his audience when they make statements like the reason he is leaving the show is because the Saudi's control Fox.

Beck admits he makes impulsive comments at times, and acknowledges he says things that are not appropriate. The suggestion that the bi-racial president is racist is evidence of this along with stereotypical "place of a women" comments about Sarah Palin.

The problem is he wouldn't acknowledge the comment about the president as a mistake and just went on to suggest the president was anti-semitic and even anti- American. His ratings and advertisers have been on a steady decline since.

That was the beginning of the end of his TV show. If any commentator had said it publically, that was on another big cable news network, they would have been fired on the spot. You saw what happened to Rick Sanchez and Keith Olbermann.

Sanchez said a comment that was considered Anti-Semitic and Olbermann went against the grain of NBC. It's just Business, and what is considered acceptable or unacceptable. In Fox's case it looks like they waited for an impact to advertising and ratings before action was taken.

Beck's supporters love his TV show, but it seems that the powers that be, no longer support it. If he was going in a direction that the powers that be were happy with, it is likely his TV show contract would have been renewed. Again, It's just business.

Glenn Beck is ADHD and possibly on the spectrum too.

When I do, please point them out, and I will correct my comments as needed, and apologize if I unintentionally hurt someone's feelings. I've seen you admit to a mistake once here; We all make them and a little dose of humility keeps things moving smoothly.

I have also been diagnosed with ADHD and have said many things in my life, before taking the time to consider whether they were appropriate or not. There is a difference in making a mistake and not acknowledging a mistake.

The comment that Beck made about the President was expressed as opinion, and I doubt it is a personal belief of his. Remember the Rodeo Clown; when he goes home he is no longer that clown.

In this case, though, it was a mistake for the Rodeo Clown, if he was concerned about staying in the TV Rodeo Show. In any case, it wasn't seen as an appropriate thing to say by many and resulted in consequences.

Sure, I know Beck has ADHD - I've heard him say as much, back in his CNN days, when he had the courage to take on that prick Michael Savage, when Savage said there was no such thing as Asperger's.
But despite his ADHD, and despite the possibility that he is on the autistic spectrum, it still doesn't excuse the irresponsible things he's said that has fed into people's paranoia and prejudice.
And by the way, do you know which on the air news personality has been diagnosed with Asperger's?

Crossed my mind more that once, when watching Olbermann. Was he diagnosed, recently?

Crossed my mind even more with Rachael Maddow. I notice when she does a one on one interview out in the field she seems to avoid eye contact. Both her and Olbermann have a pedantic way of speaking. I think I read speculation about Olbermann somewhere, but haven't seen public speculation on Beck or Maddow regarding them possibly being on the Autism Spectrum, until Inuyasha mentioned it.

@Inuyasha where did you see information that Beck might be on the Autism Spectrum? I would be interested in reading that information, if you don't mind sharing it.

In other news, Glenn went off on his critics today - all those that laughed at his 'doom and gloom' conspiracy theories. all his dark predictions that are slowly coming true one by one and the world economy creeps ever closer to the point of no return.

I'm embarassed to admit, I actually agreed with him today.

Olbermann had actually been diagnosed a few years ago. Beside the points you made, Olbermann also has had a lifelong obsession with baseball and baseball cards, has a million dollar vocabulary, and finds it so nerve wracking to drive that he always lets his girlfriend have the car.

I don't know if he is or not but there are a few tells that seem familiar. It could just be his ADHD, but there are times his mannerisms seem to remind me of other people I've met whom are on the spectrum.

I've actually looked at some of the research he has posted online, and he tends to be quite thorough.



Why should you be embarassed for keeping a somewhat open mind? He isn't crazy, like what his critics try to paint him as.

If Beck isn't crazy, he sure plays up to an audience made up of people who often are.
