people are sick of corporate centrism and establishment methods, that's WHY a tv show host with zero experience is in the white house. like them or not, the left isn't going to get anywhere if it doesn't adopt trump's brief, down-to-earth language that has been PROVEN to resonate with common americans, perhaps pettiness and insults aside.

My feeling is:

If the Republicans and Democrats continue on the path they are on, they will both sink with the ship.

We have to find some "other way" to deal with what's going on.

I think that was kind of what goldfish was saying in his last comment. Problem is everyone wants to do things through extremism.

Extremism will cause the ship to sink even faster.

We need a higher level of dialogue. Enough of this tit-for-tat like they do in the schoolyard.

I know, is why many of my comments are of the satirical nature. I find it hard to take serious a topic where everyone is too focused on one thing or another and can't look from different perspectives.

Meth, or not. I hope this woman is prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. I hope they broadcast her conviction. Other members have heard me brag about 3 of my grand kids who are 50% Hispanic. We have 10 grand kids total, soon to be 11. We love all of them. If anyone is mean to them they're getting it.

I do not condone or participate in any action against someone based on skin color, or ethnicity. I do not prohibit my granddaughter, who we are raising from having, spending time with kids of any color.

I cannot help what the most weak minded among my constituents twist to support their own, pre-existing racists agendas. They WANT to feel that way, they are looking for any excuse. The same goes for Trump haters, they will find any excuse to hate and blame.

We are way off topic but:
It would mean swallowing a lot of s**t and pride and some of your conscious to do whatever necessary to flip back those swing districts and doing it in such a way as krafty said that there are pieces left to pick up, a tough tough tough road to hoe. I am not convinced Biden or Buttigeig are the people to do it, Biden because he is too "gaffe" prone, Buttigeig because he is too young. I have my doubts that America is ready to elect a Jewish and very Jewish sounding "socialist" and Warren's hypocrisy is just too obvious.

Even if Trump loses the future is dicey because of the damage done. 2016 can be thought of as a horrible mistake combined with false hope that somehow Trump would become Presidential and the electoral college. With the important exception of the electoral college that won't be in play if Trump is reelected, no excuses. It would be the ultimate owning of the libs and f**k knows how ugly that would get, beyond my mental capacity to handle thinking about.

There is hope. Trump's unpopularity is so deep and wide the eventual Democratic nominee has a better chance of winning despite themselves than most give credit for. That is due to remaining shock and over correction from the belief that no way he was going to win from 2016. But man the Dems are making this more difficult than need be.

Dude, I don't give two s**ts what he writes.

I care that he is negotiating trade with America's best interest in mind, I care that he's putting a halt to rampant illegal immigration ( I am for anyone who comes legally ), but many of the illegals are criminals, it's why they don't want to go through the vetting process.
I care that he's taking better care of our veterans and shining a light on what cities like San Francisco are turning into. Nancy Pelosi speaks perfect political talk and she has people sh*****g in her streets. So talk means not one damn thing to me!
I care that he supports law enforcement, I care that he supports our troops. I care that he has compassion for Angel Parents.
Talk is cheap, words are a dime a dozen.
I care that during the middle of an impeachment hearing Trump just keeps working. Unfazed...

Indeed the 5 posters thrown into this "group of 5" (amusingly reminds me of Mao Tse Tung's group of 3) are actually quite broad minded, intelligent, articulate and compassionate people.

I'll keep this thread back on topic.

While adults are responsible for their conduct, some adults with great responsibility get a "hall pass" to make irresponsible public comments that psychologists know reinforce existing bias and contribute to people "on the edge" to act in a manner that is criminal.

With power comes great responsibility - unfortunately irresponsible leaders are not held to account for their deeds/actions until the next election. Some of us endeavour to do the right thing and help educate the population about doing the right thing and not voting for this man in 2020 to stop other crazy people acting on his words....Trump is virtually giving a green light for hate crimes with the language he uses.
