A trial with no witnesses or documents as evidence? Unheard of. All 15 previous impeachment trials in the USA have had witnesses.

Anyways, it’s they do follow through and get away with their cover up plot, what do you think will happen next?

Will Americans hold republicans accountable at the ballot box for not upholding their oaths to the constitution & vote Blue? Or will trump supporters prevail and this really is going to be the beginning of the end of America as we know it?
When and where have there been 15 impeachment trials in the US, unless your talking about gubernatorial impeachment's but I honestly have never heard of an American governor being impeached.

If Trump wins it will be because of the poor choices of democratic canidates, the election will hindge on who can the opposition party produce as an alternative to Trump. If Trump loses it will be because a democrat was able to inspire confidence in the American people. This trial will affect the election very little,Trump has already made enough mistakes impeachment not withstanding, that if the democrats could produce an electable canidate, the democrats would already have the election won.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Impeachment_in_the_United_States#History_of_federal_constitutional_impeachment
Quote:
The House has impeached 20 federal officers. Of these:

15 were federal judges: thirteen district court judges, one court of appeals judge (who also sat on the Commerce Court), and one Supreme Court Associate Justice.

three were Presidents: Andrew Johnson and Bill Clinton were later acquitted by the Senate, and Donald Trump whose trial is ongoing.

one was a Cabinet secretary

one was a U.S. Senator.
Federal judges hardly compare to the trauma of presidential impeachment, most people don't even know who the federal judges in there own districts are.

From the couple articles I read and few videos I listened to, this seems to sum up what’s happened so far w/ the dems presenting their case.

One interesting comment from some old guy in an interview with Anderson Cooper was that he thinks many Senators are gearing much of this evidence for the very first time. Anderson asked if he thought they really hadn’t been following Any news about it & he said yes; because there’s a certain advantage they can maintain by being willfully ignorant.

That stood out to me and makes sense. If it is completely true, maaaaybe we will see the 4 required side with dems to allow witnesses if they’re Just Now getting the info And decide to uphold their paths to be impartial.

However, there are also reports that many republican seats are empty as they take extended washroom breaks etc and some who are present are doing crossword puzzles and playing with fidget spinners etc to pass the time and seemingly avoiding actually listening to everything presented.. which would lead me to believe those people have predetermined the outcome of their votes & are in fact treating this as the cover up sham trial dems have warned about.

Another article pointed out that only 11 Million ppl tuned in to watch live but that higher numbers are watching daily/evening newscasts - so the dema best net for informing the public and shaping opinion is to ensure their arguments contain many short sound bites that can be used on the evening news, social media, and in the upcoming election campaign. In this digital age, this makes a lot of sense.. and so far from some clips I’ve seen I think they realizes this in advance and have been acting accordingly. Interesting how This is a factor in this whole thing. Shouldn’t really be, but, it really is.

Hopefully there’s enough public pressure on senators to allow witnesses and documents after the release of the trump/parnas tape that enough republican senators vote in favour of having an actual trial. 8)

...Fox"a "coverage" of the Democratic testimony heavily consisted of showing Schiff's testimony on screen on a smaller box within the programming but without sound Instead (no captions underneath the soundless coverage titles, either, just pictures of Schiff talking) having Fox hosts and guests on-screen reading the Fox Party line. That's fair and balanced!

Of course republicans would never start a witch hunt against a legitimately elected POTUS

Who could forget the wonderful imagery of the republican diehards protesting against Obama and the record amount spent on protecting Obama from gun toting nutjobs

Can you imagine the scandal if democrats were doing something like that? That double standard is part of why republicans can still win elections.

Romney says it’s “increasingly likely,” that there will be enough republican votes to call John Bolton as a witness:

http://huffp.st/7lDPoHk

Mmmmmaybe a handful of these senators have a conscience and actually care about their oaths to impartial justice? Or maybe they’re just getting pressure from the public? Who cares as long as the trial isn’t a total sham cover up. 8)

I have a feeling that Chief Justice of the United States William Rehnquist who is presiding will not go along with a total sham cover up.
