PETA just plain suck...
mr. littledick......oh, sorry leekduck you're 17 and have been dealing with what--hippy styled terrorists all your life. oh man-have i now entered a comedy site. just too funny. i've been to kenya tanzania ethiopia sudan central african republic rwanda and in north africa, egypt libya morocco. gave away everything i had with me each time. what have you done, sonny? come on now, get mad, throw your computer against the wall. i know you can do it
PETA stinks. I am very much for animal rights and I don't eat meat and I can't stand them. They have absolutely no morals or ethics and don't do the animal rights movement any favours because any animal rights cause immediately gets thrown in with PETA.
-They have several campaigns that are very sexist and demean women
-They are moralising and obnoxious - if you're not vegan, they basically paint you as scum - which causes a backlash against the entire animal rights community and is the reason behind the "People Eating Tasty Animals" types.
-They aren't afraid of using pseudoscience and exaggeration to sell their cause - like the "milk causes autism" crap.
-They complain about stupid crap like Obama squishing a bug, and making anyone who isn't 100% vegan into some kind of kitten-eating Hitler zombie, which makes no one take them seriously when they bring up real issues of animal suffering.
There are plenty of good animal rights groups, shelters, no-kill shelters and vegetarian groups, that do their best to help animals without being rude, moralising and dishonest - those deserve respect, PETA deserves none.
Lol, U mad? Peta is a joke so expect jokes back
Oh, and the scare tactics is yet another reason I am against them. I'd first help the ASPCA or Humane Society because they're not trying to choke us with their fear mongering.
clearly you didnt read my post, so i'll spell it out it to you:
-i already know what kind of s*** happens to animals.
-i support animal rights
-i just dont like PETA's methods
-PETA is not the only animal rights group
clearly you plan to keep ignoring the point. i honestly cant stand people like you, you just cant argue with them because you can never have anything that meets the standards of 'conversation' with them. its just them talking to you, you could be saying any old crap and they'd say the same thing because they just DONT LISTEN.
spout whatever paranoid BS you want, i've done NOTHING wrong.

I don't get the big deal.
The poster is a bit stupid. I suppose it's no worse than PETA though in using 'shock' to deliver a message, rather than facts.
Where are the citations for PETA only using '1%' of its funds on animals? That's seems quite low, although bearing in mind that it's an animal rights awareness charity, not a shelter, it would make sense that a high proportion of funds goes on adverts.
I find the PETA campaigns hit and miss. Some are good, but there's enough stupid ones to do some serious damage to the organisation, and they don't do much to highlight what they have achieved (if anything).
As for the actress being called a hypocrite for driving a car with leather seats... firstly, leather is a byproduct of the dairy and meat industry, but more importantly, where on earth do you find cars with non-leather interiors? Seriously, I'd like to know!
right on punkycat. unfortunately, the fbi has wiped out alf, labeled them a domestic terrorist group and long prison sentences await anyone going to the wall to help the most tortured animals.
all you can do, really, is to act locally. maybe you can't put up with the humans you'll meet, but you can try. believe me, the reward of knowing you've helped a non-human animal is worth it. how about a ferret rescue group-they're america's answer to the meercat. the 'peta (ida, fs, lca, etc.) sucks' that you read here, it's just as bad in the real world. tis a shame. keep in your mind what ghandi said about animals.

if i'd known it would turn into such a big deal, i wouldnt have posted it. for the third time now, it wasnt meant to be taken seriously.

...true but i didnt feel like calling it "funny, just for humor PETA pic". i probably could have thought up something more apropriate though. still, people would probably still take it seriously.
