Anyway back on topic. The reason why there is a Moon Landing conspiracy is because the Apollo project was a dead end because it used bean fart chemical power. Had we used nuclear rockets we would be colonizing the Moon and Mars and nobody would doubt space travel because space travel would be accessable to everyone and not just an elite few.

Nuclear Fusion is the cleanest and most powerfull nuclear power ever invented. However the only way to harness the power of nuclear fusion with today's technology is by exploding hydrogen bombs. Helium 3 fusion is radiation free and readilly available on the Moon. However hydrogen and boron fusion may be a better choice because these materials are readilly available on Earth.

Androbot, the reason to mine He-3 from the lunar surface is because it makes a plentiful supply of fuel for fusion reactors - provided one can ever be built. The current problem is that the fusing plasma cannot be permitted to touch the walls of the containment vessel, as this cools the plasma to below fusion temperatures. (It also tends to completely destroy the vessel, but this is regarded as a relatively minor side-effect of the problem.) Magnetic containment would seem to be the solution - except that so far, at least, it hasn't worked.

Apollo was a dead end because in light of the Moon Treaty, the US could not legally establish a manned lunar base (recall that this was during Krushchev's time as Premier of the Soviet Union, and any major violation of such a treaty could well have ended in nuclear war). No private corporation had the wherewithal to go to the Moon themselves at the time - who would have trusted such a major investment to 1960s tech?

If we make a lunar return today, it would probably begin with private flights to LEO, where a lunar craft would be assembled in free-fall, with no worries about things like atmospheric drag. At that point you could either wait for the VASIMR system to be completed, or ferry up the chemical fuels and launch from orbit the old-fashioned way. Lunar insertion is a trivial problem, although I would recommend trying to find some sort of existing cave or underground lava bubble to start with - you'll want to put some of that regolith between you and solar radiation.

You can hold out for NERVA if you like, but you'd better figure out how to overcome the issues of shielding weight, reaction mass, and human psychology. I'd rather not hope for a miracle before leaving Earth...

I'm glad I'm not the only one who clenches their teeth when someone rattles off a conspiracy. Investigating them was a special interest of mine for a month or so. I was very disappointed with what I found. I'm surprised the moon landing is getting so much attention. My favorite one was always the JFK assassination. You gotta dig quite a bit to find out why there are "magic bullet" and multiple gunmen theories.

Moon landing is pointless, you need to start on 911, cos that's the strawman of the whole global conspiracy, wars, economy crashes, coups, shadow governments, banking system,... Pay attention to the current global picture, not the irrelevant details.

Once you connect everything, you plug in JFK and it makes total sense. Of course, anyone can believe whatever he wants, i can't convince you to believe this.

Aspergers rhymes with Hamburgers. Some people with Aspergers like to eat Hamburgers.

Aspies came from the planet Aspie. That may explain why they are different to everyone else on Planet Earth.

"The essence of propaganda consists in winning people over to an idea so sincerely, so vitally, that in the end they succumb to it utterly and can never escape from it." Goebbels

We are only fed the information that we are allowed to know. The truth get's hidden from sight and the lie become the truth. The media's role is to push propaganda for a political agenda.

If the truth was to be discovered it would be denounced and labelled as a conspiracy theory. The lie we are told over and over becomes the truth. Only the victors of the battle live to tell their side of the story. The story of the defeated enemy of battle goes with them to the grave.

I was always wanting to start a conspiracy theory thread, but never knew where to put it. This seems like a good place.

Well the truth is out there.

There's plenty of cases where there appears to be good evidence of government interference or obfuscation in UFO reports. Not just in the USA.

Over 200 students and teachers in Westhall Highschool witnessed an unexplained flying object on Wednesday 6th April 1966 around 11.00 am. They reported it descended into a nearby open wild grass field adjacent to a grove of pine trees in an area known as The Grange. The object then ascended in a north-westerly direction over the suburb of Clayton South, Victoria Australia.

Dr Shane Ryan, an English lecturer at the University of Canberra, is interviewing dozens of witnesses for a book
Mr Ryan has interviewed about 30 witnesses, mostly former staff and students from the Westall secondary and primary schools. He has tried obtaining police and RAAF reports, but so far with no luck. The story was covered then by Channel Nine Victoria, The Age and local newspapers. What amazed the journalists at the time was the complete lack of police, and airforce records of the event taking place. This depsite the headmeaster, teachers and students being interviewed by a series of high level representative from both areas including what were reported as representatives from a unknown agency.

On the UFO, everyone seems to agree, Mr Ryan says. It was a low-flying, silver/grey shining object, either of classical flying saucer shape or close to it, "a cup turned upside down on a saucer". The students were familiar with light aircraft because the schools were close to Moorabbin Airport. Although the UFO was of similar size, "everyone said straight away that they knew it was not a plane", Mr Ryan said, nor a weather balloon.

Another interesting government cover-up. This time from the USA

Fastwalkers in Cheyenne Mountain
In 1986 the US Space Command's Surveillance Center, inside Colorado's Cheyenne Mountain, tracked an object entering the earth's atmosphere from deep space. The tracking system was part of the Star Wars defence system set up by Ronald Reagan in the early to mid 1980's.

The object tripped the sensors detected 15,000 miles into space. The object was tracked on radar meaneuvering, flipped, rolled and climbed and looped. The anti-ballistic missile and anti-spy satellite system triggered a major alarm sent to CINC-NORAD and a urgent memo to President Reagan. Reagan was briefed that an object penetrated US airpspace (apparently) under intellegent control then stopped in mid-air and turned back into space. Reagan recommended a follow up investigation. None was conducted.

Despite allegations it was a possibly a spy plane - the US and the Soviet Union acknowledged that neither superpower had the technology to develop such exotic craft that could fly from deep space - beyond the atmosphere - then penetrate US air space and then return back to deep space...ASAT could only claim the surveillance system was faulty.

Right. So where are the artifacts of an alien technology? Nowhere to be found.
