False characterization of the protestor's aims. Moreover it sounds like pain libel.

OWS is in such a state of anarchy that there isn't much that it couldn't be accused of in good faith. I'm waiting for reports of human sacrifice to emerge any day now. I'm not sure what kind though: will it be Druid, ONA, Canaanite, Satanic, Aztec, Mayan, Inca, or one that I might be forgetting?

I think you may be forgetting Christianity and Judaism. It's interesting that you associate anarchism with human sacrifice, and seemingly all of those cultures/religious movements (or non-mainstream religious beliefs in general) with anarchism.

Hi John Browning,

OWS, and similar movements worldwide, do seem disorganized. Having any strong cental organization basis is often a leverage point by oligarchies to claim threat to social stability, and a conspiracy to violate the established law. President Hoover had the military attack the Bonus Marchers decades ago, with the simultaneous claim (with many in Congress) that the marchers were too centrally controlled and not controlled centrally with control enough to merit address.

Your view probably reflects your own appetite, as, while excessive monopolistic Capitalism may characterize the top 1% in the USA, worldwide, the top 1% has elements strongly weighted with other additional aspects of oligarchy. Probably the best word to characterize the top 1% worldwide, including the top 1% in the USA, also has a tinge of very abstract notion of anarchy, due to the very essence of the best all inclusive and descriptive word, which is "Cannibalism", being cannibalization of the other 99%. A decades old song put the much older observation to music: http://www.songmeanings.net/songs/view/ ... 858837591/

I'll admit I cringe inwardly when a cause I support is portrayed by the media largely with the people acting silly. I know people will tend to miss the point and focus on the finger waving, drum beating, "eat the rich" sign waving types.

Either this is a terrible and crude joke still worthy of a man in need of a good wake up call or this idea you are suggesting is a demented indictment built up on Fox News scare stories and complacent self-satisfaction?

Human Sacrifice? Who are you? David Icke? Any signs of interplanetary space lizards?

No space lizards yet, but just wait, their camouflage starts to decrease in efficacy the longer they go without eating a Human, its only a matter of time before the truth about OWS comes out :P
Also they are extragalactic, thank you. Our solar system does not deserve the insult of being accused as an origin point for the hated space lizards :P

Well obviously there are some problems getting in the way of people earning money....hence the reason people are fed up and protesting. Mcdonalds is DISGUSTING, nothing against any of the employees because I understand its an easy job if your good at doing fast paced work.......but there is absolutly nothing good that comes from Mcdonalds.

I don't believe most people here are assuming that OWS participants are lazy unwashed hippies. Rather many of us believe that their protest is not the most effective way of accomplishing their very vague goals. I try to visit Occupy Dallas once a week to see whats going on with them. I'll even give them a couple of cases of water, simply because they are the very least attempting to try and change things, which I can respect.

What would be a better way? a full scale revoloution?.....because that is probably what's coming if the government does not start listening to its people.

Like what? All those corporations they're protesting against, which hire many interns every year? F**king socialists don't even know what they're meant to be gaining from this protesting

My friend works in McDonald's and the only trouble she ever really has is with the occasional a**hole customer. Other than that, it's a decent job, and they're not exactly healthy but the food does taste good (and if you don't like it, that's no reason to condemn the whole chain as "DISGUSTING").

Oh I don't know maybe the fact that it's getting very difficult even for people with college degrees to make enough income to live on. So then people who lack the skills to go to college can't get entry level jobs because the college graduates could not find higher income jobs and had to settle for those jobs.........and then anyone with any physical or mental problems that interfere with their ability to hold a job are extra screwed.

It might be hard to believe but everyone who talks about these problems is not struggling because they are lazy..hence the reason they feel wronged and would like to see some change. What is so wrong with people pointing out that maybe its not a good thing that 1% of the population controlls around 90% of the wealth?

And what I am saying about Mcdonalds is the food is disgusting, it's all salt and grease........no one should ever eat that crap, there is no nutritional value at all and I would never want to serve such disgusting nastiness to anyone.

Ey! I worked there, they were a decent employer, and they were unbelievably anal about sanitation/hygiene (at least at the one I worked at). Wanna fight about it?! Just kidding.

Though the nutritional value of McDonalds is obviously low, that isn't really why people eat there. I mean should ice cream be banned because it isn't healthy? McDonalds is just "fun food", that is the only way it should be treated

It's actually more around 20% in the USA.
Although that still means the USA has a Lorenz Curve (a spread of wealth based on total population v total wealth) comparable to Russia.

Well true enough. But some people look past the obvious elements and get down to face value things, like it being tasty to a select group of people who make me look like I have a Pierce Brosnan body.

Bollocks, a quick Google found me this: http://www.ibtimes.com/articles/214426/ ... aduate.htm

I quote, "The unemployment rate for college graduates (that is, those holding at least a Bachelor’s degree) is only 4.3 percent. Moreover, this figure has slowly declined from 5.0 percent in August 2010. Or, to put it another way, more than 95 percent of college graduates in the Unites States are working – in the aftermath of one of the worst recessions in living memory."

The alternative systems have been proven ineffective. History teaches us this. You should learn from history instead of trying to repeat its mistakes.

So, basically, you just don't like their food.

Well if they expect everyone to go along with it, they're looking for dissapointment.

I admire the foresight of someone thinking far enough ahead to anticipate the OWS presence and putting the effort into scaring up some Micky D's applications just for the purpose of mocking them. I just like the image of a guy in an expensive suit and tie walking into a McDonald's and asking for a whole stack of applications, I can only imagine what the employees there thought he wanted them for. I might have sprinkled in some Walmart apps and community college MBA program brochures, maybe some enlistment forms too, but that's just my demented humor talking. I mean, if you're going to IRL troll a group like that, why not do it right?
