It's just the left grasping at straws.
Business as usual.....

No, as I told JBlitzen, I was attempting to make a point, but everything got muddled in the ensuing arguments.
I agree, I should return to the main point of the thread that I had started.

The point is that you're anti-gun. This thread and others proves it enough for me.

I have nothing against guns themselves, or gun owners. I'm against the cult of gun worship, and the notion that gun rights are unlimited, and supersedes all other rights that accompanies said gun cult.

You clearly contradict yourself in that post.

"Nothing against" should mean just that.

For most it's not cultish. It is to me but oh well, it always has been. There are far more cults than just for guns, BTW..

No other right in modern times gets attacked like the right to bear arms so, yeah it get's held a bit closer than others. Go figure.

Again, gun rights should not supersede other rights, and that's just how many Americans feel about the gun rights crowd.

As long as gun advocates stop promoting ridiculous legislation making it legal to bring a gun into a church, school, bar, government building, any sort of business etc., despite the objections of people in those places. And yes, that is something the NRA had tried to pass in - I believe - Oklahoma. The state representative, who had had an A+ rating from the NRA, who ended up opposing this bill, was driven out of office by her former friends.

Yes, of course we certainly don't want to do anything that would thwart a massacre.
Let's keep them soft targets so as not to dissuade the Adam Lanzas of the world.
We don't want them to feel unwelcome or in any way threatened by the presence of a means to stop them....

Well I've done all I can do here......

You can't force guns on people and places where they're not wanted.

If the school itself and/or the locals in that school district decide by vote that they want their school to be gun free then so be it. I don't agree but oh well it's their school.
It should not be left up to congress or anyone else in Washington, though.
However, having rejected armed security measures and there is a shooting they will have the shooter to blame for doing it and themselves to blame for doing nothing about it. PERIOD!

Same goes for a church if their parishioners decide they want a gun-free church and for it to be left open to attack. Again it should be their choice and not that of the government that has no vested interest one way or the other.

Same for a business. Two days ago I was finishing my Christmas shopping at one of the local malls. I went into one of the small specialty shops and an alarm went off right as I went through the doorway. I went right back out and I won't be back under any circumstances, armed or not. They made their choice and I made mine.

From me it's not gonna get any better than this.

Well, of course, not all of them. I was busy watching either Family Guy or American Dad at the time, and so just wrote a quick response.

It would be a lot easier to read if you guys didn't quote the entire thread every post!
