Even though I am from Australia I recently went to America and whildt the landscape etc is nice I strongly dislike some of their puratanical over the top rules such as the 21 drinking age. This simply encourages people to go underground and teaches a distain for the law here in Australia our drinking age is 18 and it works fine.
I love the USA, even with its warts (ie, the over-the-top attention to 'vice' issues such as the Drug War and the 21YO drinking age, its uncomprehendible taxation mess, use of miles, inches, degrees 'F' and gallons instead of kilometers, millimeters, degrees 'C' and liters, 'Pennies' and lack of high-value coinage, über-slow highway speed limits and 'Deputy Dawg' enforcement thereof, etc).
Also, the USA is an incredibly vast and varied nation that respects and embraces its local flavors and its Federal system is formulated in a way that allows it to flourish. Each of its 50 states and several non-state territories is very different from all of the rest, yet it is all one nation.
Just the fact that we have been and continue to be a beacon to the rest of the world, especially in time of war, and a continual immigration draw means that we must be doing something right, despite what the World's lefty crowd thinks.
