Not catching the Ed Begley reference... but as the Olberman link points out, not only is Gore's "home" his office, but he pays about DOUBLE the normal price for energy... he buys green energy that's been put onto the grid. The "large energy bill" wouldn't even be so large if he weren't actually walking the walk.

Swift boating, indeed. It's too bad that you CAN'T regulate people like this (there is no way to make such legislation truly impartial), but at least we can identify the scum who use lies to discredit people.

Actually, Al Gore's "mansion" is like Bill Gates's mansion--it has his offices, and he holds conferences there. So to compare it to a regular home...eh.

Ah, "South Park," Ahayes...makes me yearn for "Beavis and Butthead." "South Park" used to be funny. Now I can't even watch it.

I wonder if I can find my "Aqua Teen Hunger Force" dvd...

Metta, Rjaye

I thought that ManBearPig was a reference to Al Gore always wanting some sort of attention.

Ed Begley, Jr. is an actor, best know for his role on the 1980s medical drama "St. Elsewhere". He is also a world-renowned environmentalist, and very active in such causes. His environmental causes were referenced twice on the Simpsons, and he did a guest voice on one of those episodes.

Going off on a tangent here... last night on the Royal Canadian Air Farce (a Canadian sketch comedy show that often lampoons politics and current events), they had a sketch in which Al Gore won his Oscar for his movie An Inconvenient Truth, and just as he had started his acceptance speech another man came onto the stage, introduced him as a member of the Academy, and said that there has been a recount in the votes for this category, so they needed the Oscar back until the recount was settled.
