Sure, there are jocks who are okay, but from my personal experiences, for the most part they are asshats.

How is that any different than something a racist might say, right down to the "I have jock friends" part? They may even have the personal experience to back it up, just like you, so why is one kind of stereotyping wrong and another just fine? As another member said recently, if you met five dogs in your life and all of them bit you, you may be justified in being afraid of dogs, but you wouldn't be justified in saying all dogs bite, or even most.

It's a fact now? Based on what?

The difference is, minorities are as diverse as whites - nerds, jocks, ghosts, etc - whereas jocks are just that, jocks. I know their record. Look at any high school or college sex abuse case, and invariably, it's jocks who are the perpetrators. Being a jock is not the same as being born into a particular race; rather, it's a matter of becoming a bully who gets all the breaks because they can run faster or throw a ball further. There are exceptions to the rule - I personally know those who represent the exception - but for the most part, jocks are assh*les because they choose to be, not because they had been born into that status.
As far as it being a fact that nerds wish they could throw a punch at their tormentors - yes it is, because it's what I had always dreamed of, as well as plenty of other nerds. I know it through personal observation.

You know, if you'd been born in the early 20th century, especially in the south, you probably would have been a hardcore racist. You definitely have the mental makings of one. Just replace "jocks" with "ni66ers"....

Where I live, 'jocks' are what we call underwear. Thongs are worn on the feet, 'rooting' does not mean supporting someone, it means having sex, and a portable, hand-held battery-powered device that illuminates darkness is called a torch (not a 'flashlight').

Anyway, yes, I hate knuckle-dragging neanderthals who are proficient at sport and socialising, but almost nothing else, as well. They seem to infest every high school campus, and just get in the way of those of us who are their natural, intellectual superiors.

No, and I'll tell you why. Jocks were the knuckledraggers who had hurt my friends and me, so I have a reason to dislike them, whereas I'm not going to hate people just because they're different from me.
So why so defensive on the subject? Did you think of yourself as a jock back in school, or something?

It's your sweeping generalisations and blind adherence to party dogma that led me to make that comment. Just turn back the clock and put you in a different setting and you'll follow along.

I just find it highly unusual that someone your age wouldn't be able to get over high school by now....

You ought to know as well as I do that we Aspies have trouble letting go of the past. Is it healthy for me to keep the flame of hate and anger lit? Obviously not. Then again, I shouldn't let the memories of the mutated bear from a cheesy seventies horror film called Prophecy spook me like it had as a kid, but it still does.
By the way, it's not just memories what had happened to me as a kid that leaves me outraged, but also what continues to happen to anyone else seen as vulnerable or weak who suffer at the hands of those thoughtlessly cruel dim wits who get all the breaks because they can run fast or throw a ball.

Maybe you and one of your other victimized high school friends done what those two at Columbine did.

The only problems with going Columbine on bullies is:
1) Not much of a future afterward. Either it's death by suicide, death by cop, or capture and death by the justice system.
2) In order to pull of a massacre like that, you have to be genuinely psychopathic, and that's one diagnosis that doesn't apply to me.
3) I don't have actually killing anyone in me. Never did. My revenge fantasies involved punching bullies out, or putting them in humiliating situations.
As far as wearing it on my sleeve - I've already conceded that it's probably not particularly healthy.
And as for your last point - sure, but that doesn't mean I have to like it.

Yes, but you would have been immortalized in wikipedia. :D

I would much rather disappear into obscurity than be immortalized for something as vile as that.

It will create consequences for a whole bunch of aspies who never wanted to be immortalized like that.

Being against "jocks" due to what some of such do isn't any different than being against black people for what some of them do.

The flaw in your logic is, someone is born black, and can also be anything from a nerd, to a jock, to a ghost. But one chooses to be a jock. And while I conceded there were exceptions to the rule, they have a bed record for behavior.
