What are the causes of recent swarm of immigrants to Europe?
The West didn't create all the problems in the Middle East, but it certainly had a helping hand. You can't support brutal dictators and them be surprised when the population of said country turns against you. Too many times the West has done that in developing countries for control; the current terrorism trend should be no surprise.
Well the EU is supposedly discussing what to do about the problem.
I see massive crackdown and "fortress Europe" coming into being.
UN says the EU needs to allow for more legal migration, the EU wants to deport all of them.
Germany is in the process of processing 800k asylum applications (~1% of the total German population).
Polls show most Europeans don't want immigration from outside the EU.
It's going to go boom soon and probably lead to a right wing government in Greece when they vote in a few weeks.

UN and EU are largely the same entities.
I have wondered since the beginning whether the "arab spring" was covertly fomented by the USA and other western nations.
I mean, it is not up for debate whether it started with the self-immolation of a street vendor in tunis. That is a fact.
But how it spread to other countries, I do wonder.
That the US Department of Defense advertised on their official website for a vendor to provide a system for the management of online social media profiles is also a fact. They did so on the same website where they solicit bids for all of their projects.
The problem with putting down a strong-man government is that the people who have been jealous of that power will immediately start fighting for control.

There is very little overlap with the EU and UN.
They are two very distinct entities.
The UN is made up of nearly every nation and country (a few nations haven't been able to join yet).
The UN Security Council makes most decisions and has to approve the resolutions of the General Assembly (made up of all the countries and nations)
The UN Secritariat (lead by the Secretary General and his administration) staffs and runs most of the offices and posts.
The rest they nominate and the Security Council approves.
Nearly everything at the UN must be approved by the Security Council (with no vetoes from the permanent 5) or not blocked by the Security Council.
The EU on the other hand is an international organization created by the countries of Europe.
You must be an European country to gain admission to the EU.
You can also leave the EU.
The EU's 4 main institutions are:
1)European Central Bank (governs the Euro)
2)European Commission (Executive arm and needs the support of the EU parliament)
3)EU Parliament (which is elected by the voters in each country at EU wide elections)
4)Council of Europe (made up of the heads of each EU country, each country gets 1 vote, and has special powers such as admission of new countries)
When you join the EU and then eventually the Euro (All countries except for UK and Denmark have to join), you give up a good amount of authority to Brussels (the capital of the EU) and must implement all the EU regulations and laws.
The EU countries do not want the mass wave of migrants, which is reflected in the EU institutions.
Even Good ole Switzerland doesn't want them (they aren't part of the EU though) and has made it very difficult to get permission to stay.
EU only governs it's member states and vice versa and doesn't have any influence on the UN system outside of France, Germany and UK.
EU main purpose is to integrate the economies, politics, currencies and human rights of it's members.

I believe a vast majority of the migrants are coming from either Syria or Eritrea. Syria is in a bloody civil war and Eritrea might as well be North Korea in terms of harshness so people are leaving it by the droves for better quality of life.

People have always moved around throughout history
Yay. Someone finally brings up this point, which is unsurprisingly lacking in the media these days.

Refugees or not, mass migrations can have a very negative impact on a local population's psyche. Imagine within two weeks 500 refugees popped up in your neighborhood looking for food, shelter, and work. You'd probably be pretty concerned-- they have a different background and culture than you, they're desperate which means they could do desperate things, and now they're in competition with you for resources. I'm not saying I don't have compassion for the problems they face, I certainly do, but at the same time the local populations they go to now have significant issues to deal with as well-- that's bound to put people on edge. It's not all xenophobia, there's also practical reasons why people are fearful of mass migration.

Lol, yeah, we get a pretty whitewashed image of the world here in the states. To me it's just common sense-- people don't just start suicide bombing because "they're jealous of our freedom." The cheap resources the West has harvested from the Middle East, Africa, and South America since the end of WWII come with a price and now the bill is due. I'm not saying I support terrorism, but that's not to say I'll turn a blind eye towards the cause of it. The Middle East especially, the West has helped f**k that place up as much as the leaders there themselves. I really don't see an end to it either. The West doesn't want the resources to get expensive so they'll keep supporting groups like the house of Saud, and other little oligarchies like the UAE and Yemen. Those regimes will continue to brutalize their lower classes for control. Those lower classes will increasingly fall into anti-government and terror groups to try and gain some amount of control or at least send a message. And the cycle will just continue and continue and continue. It's a struggle for power that's been swept under the guise of religion and race-- a nice package for the masses to understand.
But in Europe the population of each country is supposed to be pure.
With the Muslimification of Europe, Canada, and the US, it will look more like Africa by 2050. White people will be a minority by that time. So to help keep the flood waters at bay, Caucasian people need to start making more babies, or we will be decimated/eliminated by the newer folk.
This is not a good thing.
The European immigrants who settled in Canada in the early 20th century WORKED on farmland given, for FREE, to them, as long as they worked the land (crops) and riased livestock.
The newer immigrants are a drain because, while some of them have professional degrees from their home country, they cannot practice their trade in the new country.
The Muslim immigrants, especially the women, do not respect the culture of the West in how they dress. They still want to wear covers over their face (burka / hijab) and they don't need to do that here.
So there is a clash in values.
As an ASpie, I find it very overwhelming to say the least of my hometown of Winnipeg, Canada having many many many immigrants who are coming from these African countries, where there are NO JOBS for them, our public transport is under capacity because our City Council has not given more funds for more buses (we have no rail transit here
There is not enough housing to house everyone, so the Rental vacancy is < 1%...Most newer blocks are Condos. not Apartments... So the new immigrants drive up the cost of Rental housing for everyone.... Used to be able to rent a 1 Bdrm. space for $400 here...Now it's almost double that.
So I can see that there is a lot of resentment towards the new immigrants.
In Germany some citizens are protesting with their feet. Some have recently burned down a housing unit that was meant for new immigrants. Merkel has called these people who burned that building certain names.

It's all a mess.
You sound a tad racist...
Mostly, American made bombs.
Secondly, American supported terrorists.
Third, West Africans hearing that all they have to do is get there and they will be given money, shelter, food, which to them is like winning the lottery.
The same happened here when Obama said, those who came illegally as children should become Citizens. Over the next year over a hundred thousand children showed up. Be under sixteen, cross the border, win.
Refugees are people given temporary shelter. They are not on a path to citizenship.
They also have to apply, be accepted.
Illegals are illegal everywhere, and a rule of Law is no one can profit from an illegal act.
Being an Immigrant take years, lots of paperwork, costs, before entering. It still takes years to become a Citizen.
Germany said they would take 800,000 Refugees. That is about how many are in Turkey and Jordan.
Families that fled the fighting in Syria, registered as Refugees in Turkey and Jordan, go to the head of the list.
Young men from Pakistan, West Africa, are not Refugees, they are illegal aliens.
None of them qualify as Legal Immigrants.
On other sites I visit, Europeans say almost all will be rejected, deported, and even Refugees are limited to five years.
Right wing parties are winning Europe, and Eastern Europe has refused to take even legal Refugees.
This is killing the whole idea of open borders within the EU.
This seems the death of the EU.
If anything, Western intervention has helped mitigate the problems.
Mitigate the problems? We created ISIS by firing the Iraqi military when we installed a Viceroy. We destabilized the region by our invasion of Iraq. We overthrew the Iranian elected government when we put the Shaw into power. We created Al Qaeda when we backed them against the Soviets then pissed them off by stationing troops in Saudi Arabia. That's just a partial list...
You need to study history a little bit.
