To clarify had i said, "you're a lizard brain" that would be an attack on you. But, i didnt say that, i said "the" lizard brain, clearly in reference to the region and not you as an individual. It's not just semantic, it's a completely different meaning altogether. As i said, we disagree, you haven't backed up your argument with any facts as I've requested, and now to deflect from losing the argument you're playing the victim card when there was no crime.

But the way insurance systems work, all costs will be distributed to all insurance takers. If one person gets cancer, the statistics show cancer to be more likely, and everyone's rates increase to account for the rising cancer risk.
Fire insurance is relatively cheap, because there are few fires happenjng, not because the insurance company actually trusts you personally to turn of the stove.

What a socialized medical system actually does is vastly increase the numbers of insurance takers and organize them into one body that can negotiate rates and costs for medication. Somewhat like a union.
Without this kind of system, it's everyone for themselves against insurance companies and pharmaceutical companies.
This is how the US became the most expensive place in the world to get ill.

Soo. By underlining the way every insurance plan works (paying for someone else's treatment), and using it against obamacare, you're actually weakening your position against your provider....

" paying for someone else" is not special to obamacare, but inherent to the system of statistics insurances work with.

Yes, there is a small portion of people who can afford to eat healthy, are aware of the risks not doing so, and choose to do so any way. But there is no way to filter out these few in order to treat the many.

What i'm hearing you say though is:
Some people eat bad food and don't excercise.
Some people who do so get heart attacks.
Therefore all illness is preventable.

Am i misreading? If not, can you provide any evidence behind this conclusion (which seems to be the premise of the argument)?

I typically look at the costs we pay anyway via ER trips without preventative care; but the lower rate for everyone/bulk discount..vs every man for himself against a for profit insurance company is a very good point.

Nature doesn't work like you think it does. Even people who take good care of their bodies can succumb to some random illness. Not everyone who smokes a pack of cigarettes a day gets cancer (even if you think they should). It's just a roll of the f*****g cosmic dice. I assume you'd like all these innocent people to die as well.

I should not be paying your poor eating habits and smoking habits out of my paycheck. If you want healthcare, go get a job and sign up for an health insurance plan like most of us and pay it out of your pocket. They should start eliminating the fraud that goes on in Medicare and Medical. They should add a box on your IRS form if you want to give a portion of your rebate for healthcare and write it off as an contribution.

I bet you never thought of the fact that some people have health conditions that prevent them from working. Conditions they were either BORN WITH or contracted RANDOMLY THROUGH NO FAULT OF THEIR OWN.
