Honestly this thread is a perfect example of why autistic people have such a bad name in society. Shameful lack of empathy ITT

Disgusting little generalization about Aspies, no?

At least I'm honest. But now about the reward...?

I'm not making a generalization. I'm pointing out the unfortunate fact that, while many of us may be kind and tolerant, mainstream society tends to generalize us based on the more negative elements of our community. As a misunderstood minority, that's a burden we all share whether we want it or not.

Manning is not about empathy for me, or any of that gender stuff. I don't give two centavos for his personal life. He betrayed us, his brothers and sisters in arms, as well as the country. We have specific laws for that situation in the legal code, the UCMJ. A lot of people don't like capitol punishment. Fine, I get that. Life then. In Democracy I get my say, not necessarily my way. And it's not like there is any doubt in this case. But if he keels in prison... so much the better.

But yes, lack of empathy in Aspies is a generalization. It is one of many possible symptoms, but far from universal. From my observation I would say its often something else mis-characterized. Noticable lack of empathy I see in less then 25%. And over sensitive/extra empathetic I see in 25%. So it's not a good label or handle.

She exposed corruption and murder (unlawful killing of noncombatants) in the US military system. If that's "treason", then you need to take a good hard look at your military and what it's supposed to stand for. Their hands are stained with Iraqi blood, and Chelsea is in prison because she wanted to keep hers clean.

manning is a hero to me, paying the price for civil disobedience. her hunger strike was to protest solitary resulting from trumped-up charges related to a suicide attempt.

Not really,

I am asking why it is needed in the first place, the only medical care I would give prisoners is what they need. Isn't being the gender you want a luxury? Prosthetics are normally not considered medically needed by insurance but I can bet most people without a limb would like one. The point I am making is his life will continue regardless of what sex he is, prison should keep him alive, not give him nice amenities.

I don't think you really understand how transgener works...its not people who just wake up one morning and decide they want to be the opposite gender. These people tend to have lived a life feeling very uncomfortable in their own skin...also there are a number of babies born that don't have a 'normal' sex but are assigned one but then once puberty hits it turns out they assigned them the wrong one. Its not really about being the gender they 'want'.

The thing that makes it a prison is the door with the lock on the outside. I don't believe that prisoners lose all their human rights while in prison.

I do believe there is something in the constitution about no cruel or unusual punishments. Though I have an alternate idea to capital punishment which I suspect most people won't like, so might consider some more before I go posting about it for all to see and criticize lol.

If Chelsea becomes suicidal due to a gender identity issue, then not providing reasonable accommodations is similar to capital punishment, or the cruel and unusual step of long term solitary confinement.

What does cis mean?

It's a genetic, anatomical female, who embraces traditional gender roles.

Yes, there's a long (over) qualification for that.

It used to be a moon, on the door of an outhouse...
