If you look at those pictures, he could very well be Hispanic or Muslim. And they have the gun. He didn't wear any gloves so they can retrieve fingerprints. Why would he just leave the gun?

Dumping the gun strikes me a sign of intelligence, but maybe it was just convenient. Usually guys who pull something like this don't survive the next 6 hours. I don't know what to think.

According to his profile he works for the "Commissary". I guessing this is the commissary for Naval Air Station Whidbey Island. I used to drill there many moons ago.

I heard he went there (Macy's) cuz his ex-girlfriend USED TO work there. Well, now..... I understand being disgruntled over being dumped----but, why would one go where someone USED TO work, for revenge?

I don't think it was terrorism. Why would he drive 40 mins away to attack a civilian target (Cascade Mall) when he had access to a military base (NAS Whidbey Island Commissary) where he worked?

The only reason I can think of is the Mall represented a softer target then the Commissary. I'm thinking that we will find that the motive is more "conventional" lovers quarrel or personal beef.
