I'm an Aussie here... But to be honest, I'm actually fed up with Politics in general... Not just in the USA, but in the world in general. Leaked emails this, Corporate funding that, Vagina grabbing whatever. Can't you guys in the states simply just vote for someone who isn't either a ethically corrupt businessman/woman or a gun-toting, bible thumping, warmongering nutjob for once? Tbh, I hate both candidates. Trump wants more Reaganomics, an end to abortions and War with China. Clinton wants more Reaganomics, more abortions and war with Russia. All three countries have nukes, and if any one of those countries pushes the button, We'll all be dead.

I know, Off-topic and all. Just expressing some frustration. Carry on.

(I couldn't access your link, BTW, without an account.)

The issue is this, should elected officials be allowed to keep their private communications private? We have a classification system that enshrines certain communications in secrecy. Who decides what is secret? Isn't it those same public officials? I don't think anyone can disagree that a functioning government needs to be able to keep it's own secrets. If Hillary was allowed to do that by law, then none of this would have happened. I argue that the law which requires all communications to become public after a term is over is not compatible with a functioning system.

The emails being investigated now by FBI director James Comey did not come from her server and was not sent by her, the emails in question came from Anthony Weiner and his wife's laptop computers!

No. 1, it was a SHARED laptop (not laptop computerS), as your article verifies:

Newsweek.com wrote:
In the course of that investigation, agents seized a laptop computer Weiner shared with his wife...

No. 2, at least some of them DID come-from Hillary's server----AND, they were sent by Hillary; it's not a matter of whether or not she WROTE them. Also, from your link:

Newsweek.com wrote:
...when the Secretary forwarded emails to her for printing.

One thing your link pointed-out, of which I was not aware, and found quite disturbing:

Newsweek.com wrote:
Because Clinton preferred to read documents on paper rather than on a screen, emails and other files were often printed out and provided to her either at her office or home...

As Jacoby has pointed-out before, Hillary's home was not searched by the FBI, and SHOULD have been, IMO. Hillary had no business having hard-copy classified information in her home, where her maid, gardener, hairdresser, whomever could have read them. (Comey said at least some of the emails found on her server, were classified----and, as your article says, Clinton forwarded emails for Huma to print, and then Huma had them [hard-copy emails] delivered BACK to Clinton, by courier, to Hillary's house.)

Yeah, I agree----there's no WAY, we'll ever get to see Hillary in handcuffs (those of us, like me, who WANT to), because the chances are HIGH that whatever is on Huma's (and hubby's) laptop, are the same things they already found on Hillary's server.

I also agree that unless they find something in Huma's stuff where Hillary said, something like: "Did you get rid of all those emails, like I told you? I need to have all of that stuff removed, before they get here, Tuesday", or something similar, Hillary won't be indicted.

If Hillary is President she will not be indicted because impeachment is the constitutional mechanism set up for that. There is the Watergate precedent. The Grand jury wanted to indict Nixon but prosecutors were fearful about the constutionality of indicting a sitting president. They had a hell of time persuading the grand jury to not indicted him and ended up naming Nixon as an unindicted co conspirator. He was of course pardoned by his successor. There was more then enough circumstantial evedince to look into the Bush family connections to 9/11 but Obama said no.

Well, I dunno----I'm not clear, on that..... Someone else posted something similar on here, and I pulled-up my copy of The Constitution, to re-read that bit----but, it's not clear to me that that would be the case, if the crime(s) was committed PRIOR to taking office.

Watergate was committed DURING Nixon's presidency----and, President Obama saying "no", regarding President Bush (W), means President Bush was already OUT of office; therefore, not "sitting"; so, therefore, maybe he could have been indicted on crimes committed when he WAS sitting.

Comey was trying to help his party and they did not not even realize it. If he indicted Clinton he would have taken out the weakest candidate in recent memory if not all time. If any other other Democrat but Clinton were running we would be wondering if that candidate could lose one state. But the Republicans bit the hand that fed them and now Comey had to do this desperation move to try to avoid his own impeachment. The party Republican "plan" seems be elect Hillary due to never Trump and hound Hillary for the next 8 years. Maybe they can get it right this time, they have not done so since 1992, but what the hell.

I don't understand this paragraph----cuz, I read that when Comey talked to Congress about Hillary's investigation, he stated he was no longer a registered Republican; and, I'm thinking that would've been the only way "trying to help his party" would've made sense, to me.

Yeah, I'm thinking it's okay for elected officials to "keep their private communications private"----but, we're not talking about her PRIVATE communications; we're talking about FEDERAL business communications----and, I AGREE that not ALL communications should become public; but, AFAIK, they haven't (meaning, AFAIK, no-one but the FBI has seen any of the emails she wrote about her daughter / grandchild, for instance).

Her SERVER was private----but, ALL of her communications, were NOT; THAT'S the problem, IMO. When she wanted to conduct Federal business she needed to get OFF that server, and return to her SECURE one. I'm thinking she just got lazy, and didn't feel like switching back and forth, all-the-time----and, that's why she was believed to be innocent, of "malicious intent" (or, whatever they called it).

I was under the impression Comey was a republican. The media I have seen is still reporting the apperent erroneous information. But the basis of the analysis remains. If Clinton was indicted she would have likely withdrawn or been forced out. Any replacement would have been a much better campaigner and the election would have been a Democrat landslide. By not indicting Clinton you have what you have Clinton having difficulty with a Republican candidate with the highest negative ratings in history because she has the second highest negative ratings in history.

I am making slow but steady healthwise. In a couple of weeks or so I will post an update in the Adult Life section. Thanks for remembering.

You don't understand, I'm asking why she shouldn't be allowed to keep all of her communications private, including those involving Federal business?

Because, the probability of hacking a private server is thought to be MUCH higher, than being able to hack a secure government server----as it seems to have been proven by the posts from WikiLeaks, of her hacked emails. Some of those emails might've been putting the ENTIRE U.S. population at risk----anybody else who did that, would've been hangin' with the dust bunnies in a prison cell.

No, I'm asking why shouldn't all government communications be kept private when they are on secure government servers? In other words, this would not have happened if Hillary felt secure to use the gov. server for everything.

Trump's original stance, of which I was aware, was that Snowden, et al, were committing high treason -- a capitol offense.

How does that comport with our national tradition, against standing armies.

Well, apparently, I'm still not understanding what you mean----cuz, I would think her communications WOULD be private, if her email account was password-protected.

As for it not happening if Hillary felt secure----it might've STILL happened, because of this:

No it wouldn't be private, since at the present time all government communication becomes public eventually. Password or not.

That's not how the justice system works. I would prefer if Trump didn't believe what he said (and I think he probably doesn't, he knows how the game works).

You really ought to watch more than CNN. She's a mass murderer and laughs about getting rapist's sentences reduced. Now it's come out that she got her info hacked by the Chinese. So she's either so incompetent that she probably shouldn't even be cleaning toilets, or she's selling info to the Chinese, which wouldn't be a first.

So you'd rather have a lying, corporate harlot? WOW.

Ok, the murder accusation is a Breitbart fever dream, and she should be proud of being a successful public defender. You don't know how she laughed or not, that isn't evidence. I'd rather have a Senator and Sec State than an idiot reality show loser that thinks he can grope women with immunity.

She's voted for every war since the late 90's and supported the sanctions against Iraq that killed hundreds of thousands of children. If some moronic website laps these things up because of their bias, it doesn't mean these facts are fake. I mean, please reassure me that you understand this? Yes I do, it's not a secret, she's laughing and bragging about helping some beast child rapist. You'd rather have one that just kills them, rather than making nasty jokes about women?

Kudos on the use of an underused word: harlot. Very discreet of you.

I've already gone over the "child rapist" issue; it may have been with you. But if you watch the whole tape, she is laughing at the defense team, not the victim.

And children die in all wars. Do you hold W. accountable for those that died in his ridiculous destruction of Iraq?
