People tend to have a very selective memory. I don't see how so many Americans can forget the 241 soldiers, mostly marines, killed in the barracks bombing in Beirut.

From what I remember of the investigation into that bombing, there were several guard posts but the guards were not permitted to keep their weapons loaded. When the threat appeared, they did not have time to load their weapons and return much fire. That was every bit as big a screw up as Benghazi.

I liked President Reagan for a number of reasons, but this wasn't one of them.


I was a kid when Beirut happened, but I still remember.

But Hilary's fans do not care what she does, even if it's there in front of them, they'll deny it, say it was Russia or just say that Trump's racist and sexist.


I have to think, if Assange wasn't involved in coordinated efforts with Russia and Trump, he would have found and released Trump's tax returns by now.
And Trump is a racist and a sexist. No getting around that.
And what President or secretary of state hasn't been responsible for people getting killed? It's a matter of killing the right people.


Maybe he would, but he doesn't have access to them. He has access to Hilary's emails because of her 'errors'. The media will print anything negative about Trump, so no need for Assange there anyway.

I'm hoping for an effective politician, someone who is willing to compromise for the good of the country.

An example of an effective, yet obviously flawed politician, was Charlie Wilson. He's the guy that funded the Afghan rebels to force the Soviets out of Afghanistan. Like many guys, he had a thing for beautiful women. But, he also voted for the ERA and had a staff of extremely smart women--Charlie's Angels. Back them women rarely got to work in such power jobs--unless you were in some other country. Twenty of his former staff showed up for a movie premiere.

Not sure how backing jihadists who throw acid in women's faces, who ended up being involved in 9/11 was a good thing.

I didn't say it was--I just wanted to give an example of how one guy could pull the political strings to do something really hard, like drive the Russians out of Afghanistan.

I just noticed your signature--Napolean wasn't able to defeat the Russians, despite invading Russia with a massive army. His tactical victories were no match for the Russian winter. What was left of his fighting force had to retreat back to France.

Sure, Clinton is a liar, but she's a liar who's experienced in world affairs, and can keep her cool. Trump is a far worse liar, and a narcissistic one at that, who has no idea about the world at large save for running the Miss Universe Pageant overseas, who believes his own hype that he's a successful businessman, and who lets the slightest suspected insult or critical tweet to set him off on the most insane temper tantrums.

What's her experience exactly? Giving weapons to ISIS? Lying about being under gunfire in Bosnia, twice?! Keep her cool? You didn't hear about her meltdown on NBC then? When Matt Lauer went off the pre planned questions she thought she was getting and asked about her emails, she went on a foul mouthed tirade, threw a glass of water over her assistant and said "“If that f – – – ing bastard wins, we all hang from nooses! Lauer’s finished…and if I lose it’s all on your heads for screwing this up".

Clinton still has far more experience having been in the senate and the state department than Trump, who isn't really a billionaire but plays one on TV. Just what the hell are Trump's qualifications, anyhow?
I have never heard a thing about that Matt Lauer interview, but whatever meltdown she's ever allegedly had is nothing compared to Trump's.

You know, your candidate did thank Clinton for her service as secretary of state. He was able to make and accept peace gestures, now that the campaign is over; perhaps you should, too.
