Obama Says He Would Have Defeated Trump For A Third Term
Because Americans don't want socialized (commie) healthcare. I think the system he dreamed of was a lot better than what it became. But I don't think he should have started something he wasn't able to make happen. I think it would have been better if he had let things be, instead of what's available now.
I heard someone compare it to FDR's New Deal, where FDR ran into a lot of opposition, but with a lot of determination, pushed it through. Whereas Obama failed.

It has been failing. Every year, more and more insurance companies and providers have dropped out and there's been less and less things covered by it, while premiums and deductibles continue to double. I'm guessing Trump wants to set up a government system that's similar to health care coverage millions of working class got from their employer prior to Obamacrap.
I mean if hundreds of companies with of thousands of employees could afford to give either free or very low cost health insurance for decades (until Obamacare took it away), then why can't the government provide actually affordable health insurance too? I really don't think Trump being a businessman employer of thousands is going to have much difficulty formulating a workable plan. We shall have to see how it works out. I think most working class would just like to roll the clock back to 2008, but it's too late for that now.
It's a virtual or fiat currency. Nothing especially has to be affordable.
It's still, technically an example of tyranny, even if you are just spending arcade tokens and game board money, to be told what to, with every last penny, and how you must earn it. But, it would still be possible to succeed, in life. You might be stuck on a treadmill, forever, but still have one.
People are not allowed the right to exist, when they incur charges, which can never mathematically be covered by the printing press.
This situation is a matter of choice. They simply refused to authorize the money.
Obama a narcissist? Compared to Trump, he's the most humble, selfless man on earth!
You just cannot criticise Obama, that's why you think that. Obama only called off the massacre of Gaza in 2009 because he didn't want it to interfere with his inauguration.
Massacre at Gaza? As it apparently never happened, I have to ask if it was ever planned for. I've never heard of such a thing.
You never heard of the massacre in Gaza in 2008/9? I guess CNN forgot to mention it. Gee, I wonder if CNN's memory would have been so bad if police in Texas had blown up a load of African Americans.
Yes, I recall what had happened in Gaza, but how the hell was Obama responsible for that? From your post, I assumed it was some planned American attack that had been allegedly called off by Obama. As I understand the incident, it involved Israel, Hamas in Gaza, and not at all the United States.
Oh my God

But $4,000,000 of the public's money to play a round of golf with an ex-pro? Who else would do such as thing besides this spoiled brat. He hasn't changed since he was a weed smoking kid.

In order to provoke Israel into attacking Iraq in order to break up America's Arab coalition, Saddam Hussein had fired missiles into Israel during the first Gulf War which had been built in Germany. Does that mean Germany was siding with Iraq?

among millennials certainly, they're the ones who support trump the least (on average).
president obama is one of the few constants these last few months, and people tend to latch onto those when things are rough.
but i don't think the older generations feel the same.
He's not very popular among millennials, he's EXTREMELY popular among them.
How can Obama be popular when he doubled the national dept and destroyed healthcare for the working class?
Bush had kept the cost of his Iraqi adventure off the books officially, whereas Obama acknowledged it's reality. Plus, Obama had inherited a devastated economy from Bush.
And he ruined health care for the working class? In fact, millions of people who had been excluded from health care by cost or preexisting condition can see a doctor today.
They're still blaming Bush eh? That often repeated healthcare quote sounds good, but the fact is the majority of the working class had their good healthcare plans taken away from them and had it replaced with something that's pure awful. Huge premiums and astronomically high deductibles. But hey, it allows preexisting conditions and is affordable via subsidy for those who's income is so low, they qualified for free healthcare before Obamacare anyways.
Obamacare could have been tweaked here and there to work. Incidentally, what we today call Obamacare had started out as a Republican plan, thus all the problems with it.
Is the democratic stance one of total blame and zero accountability? Because it sure sounds that way. ACA started with Obama. It was a primary objective and pet project of his, based on his mother's hardships.
The ACA was originally devised by the Heritage Foundation, back when it was looking for a time like so called Hilarycare would be introduced during the Clinton years. Obama went with this flawed plan, instead of universal health care, because he naively hoped the congressional Republicans would jump aboard a plan that was originally theirs. He underestimated how much the Republicans would place making his administration fail over the good of the American people.
Well I'll have to look into that more. But again it comes off as zero culpability on his part with 100% of the blame going to the Republicans as usual. Interesting how it's a Republican president who's going to make it actually affordable by lowering premiums and deductibles. Or so that's the plan.
But I'm still going to maintain for now, if it hadn't been for Obama, we wouldn't have the mess called Obamacare, no matter who drafted the prototype.
At least Obama tried to do something to help millions of uninsured people, while the right only justified leaving all those Americans without help. Now the Republicans are trying to weasel out of their promise of replacing Obamacare by saying they will replace it overtime, in increments. Translation: they won't be replacing it, leaving millions to their own devices.

He naively believed he could get bipartisan support for using an old Republican plan for healthcare.

First, that didn't happen. But more importantly that was all awhile back, and he did a TON during his last year in office.

No, it was not. It was actually based on the plan Mitt Romney used for Michigan.

No, it was not. It was actually based on the plan Mitt Romney used for Michigan.
Romney had wanted to run as a moderate Republican, but ended up sucking up to his party's far right, which believed letting the poor go without medical care would encourage them to either work harder, or just die and get out of the way.

*i* said he was rather popular among millennials (and maybe gen Zers), i said nothing definite about the other older generations.
among other things, that demographic cares more about social issues than national debt and the fact is, we have made some huge progress in the former field during his tenure.
it's true that the working class had employment struggles during his years and that's probably where the bulk of his opposition lies, but many jobs are coming back as well.
clinton doesn't care about the working class. and it looks like trump may go down that same path. despite all his boasting, that sprint deal had nothing to do with him.
obama is the epitome of a mixed bag, and i can see why people who were previously ambivalent about him have since grown to at least, accept him, when they see who is coming into office in under two weeks.

I know I'm probably preaching to the choir but how can they not see the poor will work harder if they're healthy?
