Judging by some of the posts in the confederate statue thread, I would have guessed Stormfront's user base all moved to Wrongplanet.

People on the autistic spectrum are an oppressed minority ... and yet we haven't been so kind to other oppressed minorities.

True. But I'm still not for censorship so long as they are not directly advocating violence.

I've lurked there sometimes just to see what was there, and there were some of Aspies who posted there.

About 5-6 years ago we had someone here that was a Stormfront member. He seriously wanted to create a white nationalist forum on WrongPlanet. I was mature enough to know it was never going to happen and to be merely amused by it, but the outcry against it from some other WP members was quite entertaining for me. :jester:

And before you go there, this isn't a right wing totalitarian state just because Donald Trump is in office. The conduct of former sheriff Joe Arpaio is hard to believe took place in a democratic country. It's more what you'd expect from a totalitarian state such as Nazi Germany or Stalinist Russia.

Though to some degree I do agree bigots should be ignored in the instances where they represent a small, fringe group for whom not ignoring would serve to give them publicity and a platform which they can use to spread their hate and attract people to their cause.

I still believe anyone should be able to spread there ideas. I personally would not censor hateful opinions. I agree companies and websites have a right to block them. I just wouldn't. Censoring opinions to me is more likely to lead to violence. When people feel oppressed they get violent.

There's a difference between spreading ideas and slandering or libeling someone. When white supremacists talk about "evil jews" they are slandering and libeling me because I am a jew and they are saying things about me that are not true and defame my character. It's no different if someone would to go around telling people that you are a pedophile and molested children.
