Trump Attacks Black footballers
Whatev....
Not to name names, but it's highly likely that someone could pretend to be non-American. To some, living in this [sarcasm] hellish, wage-slave, racist, sexist, Islamophobic, homophobic, jingoistic excuse of a nation where people die by the trillions every day from lack of free healthcare and it's citizens are allowed to run around with dangerous assault weapons, which would be banned in any civilized nation, mowing people down by the trillions every day, and elected a Nazi as a president [/sarcasm] is more than their minds can bear so they escape by pretending to be of another nationality and mentally distance themselves from it.
Just sayin...
We can write whatever we want for location in our profile.
Only one eye roll?
Yes, only one.
Eyerollers should be used sparingly so as not to dull the sensation of belittlement and condescension they provide.
Don't you agree?
My Arkansas rite of passage consisted of having sunburn, chigger bites, and poison ivy all at the same time. Miserable as I was, I'd much rather have dealt with the bobcat.
Do some hill folk around there refer to cougars as painters?
Some in Appalachia do .
I've never heard anyone call them that.I know it's used in Appalachia, here Mountain lion or cougar is used. For years Fish and Game denied we had them,we knew we did.Till everyone got game cameras. Then they believed us.I haven't seen one,but I have seen the tracks.

I know you were talking to somebody else----but, I wanted to chime-in, on this one.....
YES!! As you probably already know, my family's in / from Appalachia, as well, and I've heard SEVERAL people call cougars, "Painters" (I figured it was, like, "language decay", or whatever, for "Panther")----also, I've heard them called "Catamounts" (again, I figured it meant, like, "Cat of the mountain", or whatever).
I've heard all KINDS of stories about cougars, in them thar heels----everything from being killed, because they threatened (and/or killed) the livestock on my family's farms, to protecting an infant human!! I don't know if any of those stories are TRUE----but, they always made for GREAT entertainment, at my grandfather's knee!!

Personally I don't have a problem with someone who's not an American weighing in on American politics. However when it seems like someone's stock-in-trade to constantly bash a country they don't live in, it becomes irritating and or offensive. I'm sure if I were to do so on a regular basis, I would start getting flack for it, or even warnings from moderators.

Yep, I agree with this, as well----ESPECIALLY, the part about our getting our necks in a wringer, if WE did it; gotta love those double standards!!

One of my elders told wolf stories. They raised sheep in the Grand Prairie region here and wolves constantly carried them off. Also tornado stories. One family would dress in their Sunday finest and lay down in their beds every bad storm. So the relatives wouldn't have to dress them for the funeral.A tornado also picked up a herd of cattle, lifted them over a fence and set them down in a neighbor's adjoining field unharmed.I just loved hearing those stories.

It's called critical thinking - using a process called deductive reasoning
Colin Kapaernick and others refused to sit during the national anthem because of what they perceived as racial oppression
but heck let them speak
"I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color. To me, this is bigger than football and it would be selfish on my part to look the other way. There are bodies in the street and people getting paid leave and getting away with murder", referencing a series of events that led to the Black Lives Matter movement and adding that he would continue to protest until he feels like "[the American flag] represents what it's supposed to represent"
Trump's response is not aimed at the footballers - he knows very well why they are not standing...heck even a 5yr old who watches this sport knows why they are protesting.
It's not really rocket science and it's self evident I'm not twisting anything
- the issue is racial
- the footballers are black
- Trump is attacking those footballers and by logic attacking the issue they are protesting (racial oppression)
- He is suring up his support base which have a large number of racists
If anyone would care to poke holes at this logic then feel free, but it's seems glaringly obvious even to a primary school kid

I would post a source too if I decided to go on a spree attcking Australia. Since I don't live there, my only recourse would be to find news articles to use as a basis to go on and on about Australia's prime minister, its political system and its citizens, in the same harshly critical disparaging way as you demonstrate.
People are obviously getting tired of you and DarthMetaKnight along these lines. So instead of defending it, maybe you should consider toning it down.

Exactly.
...I put my responses on op because I thought that was the best way to draw attention to them. You feel that's wrong? I have been known to misspell without knowing it because of my posting/tech circumstances, alas
. How do I " play the victim " in non-personal posts, IYHO (the above aside - I was explaining)? I tbink I probably tend to write a little too semi-formally/" old-fashionedly "/correctly for some - Aspie, you know
.
Other people put misspells up as well. I sometimes post in lines rather late, " after the parade's passed by " -partially, anyway, again, my circumstances:( - And, frankly, I think that some people AVOID uncomfortable questions I bring up, and don't comment. 89Perhaps giving perceived faults in my writing/posting style as an excuse!

And, saying this to a howling, cheering audience - a " howling mob " - an audience that is, I feel safe in guessing, pretty overwhelmigly white? In a state which does have a pretty above-average black populaton, I, again, feel pretty safe in assuming (As with any Southern state.)? (Certainly blacker than Santa Cruz, I suppose I have to say or lay myself open to accusations!
Again, YES, legal on DT's part, I imagine, but...Should he say this in a crowdaddress situation?
I didn't realize this was a civil rights violation, how so?
I need translator, can anyone help me out here
Nope. I imagine most others are as confused as you (and I), are----that's why he rarely gets responses. His making a total mess of quotes----AND, putting them BELOW his response----is, IMO, enough to make a preacher cuss, ALONE!! Also, after he makes such a mess of things, and some poor soul TRIES to respond, to the best of their ability, he'll MAJORLY fuss at them, when they've misinterpreted what he's said, and it's HIS fault!!
He CAN do things "properly" (quotes and wording of responses)----and, I imagine that's another reason why people don't respond, often, to him (cuz they've noticed, as well, that he can, and they figure if he wants a response, he'll put more effort into it - but, he likes to play the victim).[/quote]

I'm not averse to toning down my posts as I don't really want people getting upset. But I would be concerned that questioning Trump's conduct is somehow an attack on mainstream America?
Much of the anti_trump stuff I've posted is simply reproduced from your own US media sources.
Ironically the only pro-Trump media outlet (Fox news) is owned by Ruper Murdoch who is an Australian.

If these folks admit one instance of Trump's blatant appeals to racists, they fear they will have to cop to all of those instances. Really, only half of those instances of deliberate ignorance and late, half-hearted denunciations would suffice to make a case of a pattern of giving aid and comfort to racists.
If that's a quality they want to accept in their president, they should just admit it.
This thread has turned into an attempt to poison the well, invalidating anything Cyberdad has to say on American politics. If you want to criticize Australian politics, or even discuss it intelligently, you'll need to learn about it. It might do you some good!

Oh I'm sure I could find stuff in the news to come up with a litany of obnoxious things to say about him and Australia in particular. Or anyone else for that matter.

Feel free...or to use Australian colloquialism "go for it mate!"
I'll put the shoe on the other foot. Has Trump done anything he promised to do prior the US election? what positive things has he done for the country?
