A little of topic, but should be said: Ever since I was a large-venue manager, and later received my firearms instruction, I have known about Personal Security Awareness (the idea that individuals, with or without firearms, should assess and become aware of their planned venues whether it they are large events or small gatherings). PSA is a way to determine various likely "what-ifs" in life throughout one's day. Where are the nearest exits, the windows to avoid, the locked doors and the best places to take cover? While I no longer attend large venues for obvious reasons, I still run through a mental list of "options" when I am visiting a small business or the home to which I have been invited.

This knowledge helped me to protect a two-year-old boy and a man in a wheelchair at a large (stupidly free) event where the audience was guaranteed to be mostly drunk. The audience waiting in the lobby had surged as soon as the ropes had been removed trambling the boy and almost tipping over the man. Not all PSA venues involve shootings; they are, instead, more like that which I just described.

If I had attended this concert, I would have looked for nearby exits, cover and where security officers gathered as I entered the venue (near exits are the best spot to find at large venues). I would have been leaving any area that suddenly became too crowded for everyone to evacuate quickly if needed. And, I wouldn't have used my cell phone to take video of the shootings (idiots)! I would have run according to my predetermined, and ever-changing, plans. Drop your belongings and find cover or RUN!

The shooter is identified as Stephen Craig Paddock, 64 of Mesquite, Nevada

This will likely top Orlando as the biggest non milatary non Indian massacre shooting in US history.

There are endless reasons to target the Vegas strip. While targeting suggests of a country music festival suggests a left wing motive the guy does not fit the profile of a mellenial antifa, anarchist type from Portland or Berkeley. If I would hazard a guess it would be revenge motive because the guy was fired or lost a bucket load of money gambling at one of the hotels.

NBC just reported that the shooter lived in a Retirement Center (which, just, in-a-way, blows-my mind), and that medical professionals who worked with the victims of the Pulse nightclub shooting, had just been giving a lecture in Vegas, like, only a month ago, talking-about how to handle this type of situation.

I must say that it seems like the LVPD was EXTREMELY good at their jobs!!

...I was going to say something about all the people here who go on and on about the menace of Antifa, very much assuming that the shooter had no such affiliation...Yes, a country music gig in already Republican-tending Vegas might have more Reps, but I really really really really really doubt that the shooter had political motivations.
Oh, and let's see - how long until someone from the NRA annouces " This was a caused ny the gun-troolers! Why, if there been more folks in the audience with guns, they could've turned around and picked that bastard off with one shot!! !! !! !! ! Yes, sir. " ?

Uh, oh----NBC just reported that the shooter had recently converted to Islam (that, they said, was according to ISIS, but NOT, yet, confirmed by NBC)! !

CBS is reporting that Nevada has just one Level 1 Trauma hospital (in Las Vegas). I guess that Salt Lake City hospitals might get some of the overflow.

I don't think it's him, though----but, there's a few interesting similarities, like this guy's fascination with gambling..... It (Fb) says that he lives in Illinois, though----and, at first I thought his driver's license (since NBC reported that's how the cops knew his identification) was still reflecting an OLD address (also, maybe this Fb guy just hadn't updated his location)----but, then, NBC reported that the cops are at this guy's house. Whoever this Fb guy is, I sure do feel sorry for him----cuz, like I said, cuz of the similarities (I didn't see his girlfriend in his "Friends" or "Followers", though).

Anyway, I posted it, in case someone sees something about the Fb account, that *I* missed.....

The president just said he has ordered the White House flag, to be lowered to half-staff----and, that he will be going to LV, on Wednesday (geez, he was said to be going to PR, tomorrow).

Put those flags at half staff
