I stayed in Henrietta a couple of times, right off exit 46 on I-90.

I saw the Rochester skyline from a distance, though I was never actually in the city.

Mucho farmland, mucho big pickup trucks.

I liked it - but I was working very hard. No time to really get out and about. My job in Eugene was in a totally different line of work and I had actual free time! Went hiking! Watched the aurora borealis! Saw the Milky Way! Had season tickets to the Hult Center for the Performing Arts and a front row seat for both the Rostropovich and Bobby McFerrin concerts that year. Sigh.

But this is off topic, so I oughta get back to the subject at hand. Darth is right, entirely.

Got Milk?

I always choose "ice cream" when I take one of AB's surveys.

I find that option makes surveys less intimidating for some. :chef: what is escaping most people's attention, is what has been tacked onto the tax scam- drilling in the arctic wildlife refuge, and cutting the financial legs out from under ACA. that is adding insult to injury.

Well goodness, you can't expect people to actually read pending legislation now, can you? Especially when it was thrown together by lobbyists and rushed through in obscene haste specifically to forestall any sort of reasoned evaluation.

In civilized nations, I understand, legislatures are actually required to read proposed laws - out loud, even - prior to voting on them.

in a better world, we'd all be debating the merits of the various icecreams, with nary a worry about the systemic corruption enveloping our nation.

I don't disagree that we have to exercise a certain amount of vigilance.

Trump really wants people to have pictures of him in their homes----like people used to have pictures of Roosevelt during the Depression.

The man is too busy in his own bedroom, getting his rocks off by tweeting----to produce Fireside Chats for people, like Roosevelt did.

"Trickle Down" means the Nobility gets all the good bits, and those below the Nobility get the Tripe, Innards, assorted slop, fat drippings, etc......

It's similar to how the peasantry (or a dog) might sit under the table aching for the scraps of food which the Nobility discarded.

Trickle Down has never worked in the past, but yet it gets votes again and again because the big companies put people in office, and it's payback. Politicians make out that they are public servants but it always ends up with "You scratch my back, I'll put a knife in yours".

UBI will never happen here, too much systemic corruption to get past. IMHO America is past the point of repair.

Maybe that's for the best & states like California will actually secede & the USA will no longer be United.

I hope to the dickens that Washington state can join California, or mebbe BC. that would be my backdoor way into being a Canadian citizen or resident, at least. but I've long thought that a divided house [like Lincoln said] cannot stand. since slavery joined the picture, our union was ultimately untenable.

If we in Washington and Oregon join with California, maybe we can call ourselves Pacifica!

Something like this has been considered for many years & the proposed name has been Cascadia.

I thought Cascadia would only encompass the Pacific Northwest if it were to break away.
