He's still waiting for our answer. Friendly dude that he is, he's been rather patient about that "reducing this Earth of yours to a burned out cinder" thing he mentioned. Or maybe he hasn't. He didn't say how fast we would be reduced to a burned out cinder. Maybe Klaatu is behind global warming.

@Ezra: There are a great many media outlets of all kinds, what's more anyone can self-publish for free online of course. Just Internet sources excluding fox news spew enough vulgar extreme right fantasies to completely drown even the least biased media (let's say Reuters or Twitter/Reddit/what have you); it's about jagged differences in opinion being a speed bump for everyone, not strength in numbers at all. There is a rhetorical race to the bottom for shock value to add weight to partisan fights of any kind.
I for one will be moving into a smaller house at some point in the future, giving up my stick shift for a fast hybrid if not a screaming fast EV, biking more & skiing my a$$ off so as to show others how awesome winter is. I also work on engineering least-cost analysis software that reduces construction fuel costs.

Just like they monopolized the media. Which gives a monopoly on a lot of votes.
I don't really care where loyalties must shift in order to have air to breathe.

Are you a geophysicist?
I don't see why not, I work on geodetic models & computational mapping all day, every day. That includes terrestrial positioning, aerial imaging, satellite data, survey drones & Google Earth.
Seeing others talk about the real world as if borders can decide for us what nature will do just makes me sad.

Yet the solution on my end is who I vote for.
My great uncle is 58 and he said he was scared s**tless as a littke hearing about what a nightmare the world was going to be in 20 years. Natural resources would be depleted and the air literally unbreathable and then we were going to have another ice age etc.
Ask members my uncle's age and older what they heard as kids, what the world was supposed to be like by now and even 20 years ago. What a dystopian nightmare we are supposed to be in right now.
Exceptwe know this is really happening now because we have information from all over the world, satellite images, our own personal observations, knowledge that each year’s storms keep getting bigger and stronger.. there’s no ignoring what is actually happening like it’s all just some scare tactic myth.
