Proof ???? Where is your proof? The press attacks him on a daily basis. Many times they take far out theories and publish them, like Buzzfeed did with the story that originated this thread. Then mainstream media captures the story and treats it as proven fact.

If one is attacked with lies, what does an average person do. They fight back. If the press is spreading a series of lies, it seems like he has a very justifiable reason to push back. Lies are not first amendment constitutional protected rights. A lot of what the press is peddling today are mean spirited theories and attacks, not facts. They are a gaggle of "talking heads".

Trump does his share of lying, too.

It’s all tit for tat. And it’s bringing us all down.

Goldfish21, what is your stake in this? Trump seems to be a hot button issue for you. I don't see the connection because you posted that you live in Vancouver, BC, Canada. Your leader is Justin Trudeau, not Donald Trump. What do you think of your Prime Minister Justin?

It seems most likely at this point that trump is going to serve out his full term and people are just going to have to live with it. Maybe some folks will look back on it and realize they went a little too bananas. And the democrats had better come up with a damn good candidate unless they want to suffer through phase 2.

That may very well be the case, but it's not based on the lack of probable cause, only political considerations.

The media does not treat it as a proven fact. Only reason to probe further by reputable parties, like the independent council. If Republicans really cared about the truth, they wouldn't be obstructing the council at every turn.

So are you saying that you think a president should be impeach just because someone doesn't like him or doesn't like his position? Under that definition there would be no president because they would all be impeached!

I'm just saying, this has always been the case, it's not just my personal belief. You never needed a technical violation of current laws to impeach a president. In 'High crimes and misdemeanors', the 'high' means high office, and the 'misdemeanors' is not the modern legal definition, it's a usage from the past that just means some inappropriate transgression that, in the opinion of the Senate, disqualifies the president from high office.

Making 50% suffer either way is completely unacceptable. Voting to punish someone instead of voting in human interests is a zero sum. Prepare for karmic retribution.

Very well.

"In an interview with the New York Times, Giuliani quoted the president as saying that the Trump Tower Moscow discussions went on “from the day I announced to the day I won.”

Meaning that:

...Mr. Trump was seeking a deal at the time he was calling for an end to economic sanctions against Russia imposed by the Obama administration. He was seeking a deal when he gave interviews questioning the legitimacy of NATO, a favorite talking point of President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia. And he was seeking a deal when, in July 2016, he called on Russia to release hacked Democratic emails that Mr. Putin’s government was rumored at the time to have stolen.

It's the very definition of corruption of the office.

I'm not sure that the 50% who voted for Clinton are avid Trump haters. I think among those who voted democrat, there's a silent majority who are not apoplectic that Tump won.

I'm one of them, because I picked Clinton. I remember early on hearing people say tongue-in-cheek things like "we're screwed either way". "If Cilinton and Trump were stranded on a desert island who would survive? America." And I nodded and laughed.

What lead me to pick Clinton came down to her experience as a politician and that her husband who was a reasonably good president would be helping to guide her. Clinton was just simply more technically qualified. But not necessarily all that much better of a choice in my opinion.

In the next election I will vote for the Democrat contender, if I think that person will make a better president. Simple as that. And if that person loses it's not going to give me diarrhea.

I like this post, I think it cuts through what many think to be a black and white issue. If you're a Trump supporter you must be all for him no matter what and disregard all criticism. If you aren't a trump supporter you must be full against him. If I recall correctly you were rather lukewarm about the Trump Presidency at the beginning and have gradually warmed to it so now people are accusing you of being for him no matter what.

I had the same careful consideration of the two choices and chose DJT at that time because we already know what we were getting with the Clintons, 30+ years of scandals, Trump was a variable. I also had hope on trade, the leaders of the past had largely ignored the issue while major industry after major industry went overseas, first in manufacturing and then in ownership as well. Look to the history of Matsushita(Panasonic) from Japan versus Zenith Radio Corp. of the US, Zenith built better TVs, but Matsushita won out because they dumped stuff below cost while the US Gov. looked away because they didn't want to lose their new ally, Japan. Major appliances is about to be lost to the Koreans, Whirlpool Corp(owns Maytag, Amana, Roper, Estate, Inglis). is the last major US owned and manufactured appliance company left, GE's appliance division went to Haier of China though plants remain here, all taxes and profit goes over seas. Frigidaire is owned by Electrolux of Sweden. Whirlpool alone used to command nearly 60% of the market just 15 years ago, Now even with GE and Frigidaire counted it is barely 50%, LG and Samsung have taken over despite offering products no better than those offered by Whirlpool.

I would say that I am still lukewarm about the Trump presidency. I challenge things said about Trump that I don't agree with or I think is exaggerated or inaccurate or just something I simply want to debate. And I take into consideration that I might be wrong.

To be honest I wasn't really all that into it. It's only when people reacted they way they did after Trump won, that I started getting sucked in. I guess I'm just trying to be a voice of reason. And probably doing a sh***y job of it.

Trump is blatantly trying to mess with the First Amendment to our Constitution. Especially when it comes to Freedom of the Press.

He’s a worse liar than any President in history. Every politician lies; his lies are plainly obvious, and plainly harmful.

He’s playing with fire by taking us out of international alliances. Franklin Roosevelt, much more powerful than Trump, and almost a de facto dictator, knew the folly in the US isolating itself.

He shut down our Government just because he wants a (probably) useless wall. This “wall” is probably only a symbolic gesture.

trump & co.'s policies are also destructive to the environment & this is the time we can least afford to do that to the Earth.

As for the shutdown; he knows he's not getting his wall. It's a distraction intended to slow down the several criminal investigations into him and his various affiliations.

Agreed. Especially when you come across as a climate science denier & when you suggested that trump is a better military strategist than the top pentagon experts who recently resigned in disgust & protest.

The first make you sound kooky af, the second makes you sound like a blind maga hat wearing trump supporter.

Well that's your interpretation. I have never posted statements about Trump being better than whoever. Have never praised Trump et al. Someone recently correctly pointed out that I am lukewarm regarding the Trump presidency. I just commit the unforgivable crime of debating his haters.

And I've made blanket statements like, of course there's climate change. Like I said in another thread, it's not a matter of denying climate change or not believing in science. It's just a matter of not agreeing with certain conclusions regarding it. Kraftikortie doesn't agree with them either. Does he also sound kooky af?

There are a few other people here who hold similar views to mine. But I don't see you going off on them the way you do with me. You should let go of your preoccupation with me.
