Ezra will not recognise the story unless it's reported in Reuters

It was not a hoax. The GOPers told the Dems there would be no vote in the morning due to the 9/11 observance. Just because most Democrats weren't present at the ceremony doesn't mean they hadn't been misled by the Republicans.

Funny how when I do a search for it all I see are substandard sources reporting it. I don't even see CNN making this claim. Maybe you can find it.

It certainly was reported on MSNBC.

These are all "substandard"? Aside from the Washington Post article, which has already been posted here, let's take a look:

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/north-caro ... 11-events/

http://nymag.com/intelligencer/2019/09/ ... -vote.html

https://www.cbs17.com/news/north-caroli ... ial-event/

https://www.newsweek.com/republicans-ch ... 11-1458847

https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/pol ... 292281001/

These are all from the first 2 pages of my search when I searched Google for "north carolina 9/11 vigil".

Show me the excerpts in those where they say the Republicans used 9/11 to trick Democrats in NC.

I'm going by memory. They interviewed the indignant Democrat legislator who gave the Republicans hell after the incident, and she clearly described how the Republicans had lied to keep the Dems away.

Incorrect. I prefer Reuters and AP because they're not full of sensationalism.

Ok I'm not a lawyer but unless Snopes comes up with an alternative explanation we can assume the NC republicans dug into their bag of dirty tricks and used 9-11 to trick the local Democrats.

I suppose Trump will claim all's fair in politics but I would have thought the families of the victims of 9-11 would have other thoughts on what is a very low act...

MSNBC isn't a legitimate news network either. Some anchors still push the Russiagate hoax

Both awful. Any network or paper that promoted the Russiagate hoax should be ignored as they don't have any credibility. When comedians like Jimmy Dore were able to tear apart the hoax it shows how horrific the news sources pushing it are. Anyone who watches these channels still can also be ignored. They are just watching sensationalised hysteria and lies, not real news.

Right.

Republicans deny it.

Republicans even say they warned Democrats that they would do this if they could.

"Republican leaders denied giving any such assurance. "

"The Associated Press reported that the office of Republican Speaker Tim Moore provided audio from Tuesday’s floor session of Lewis saying that recorded votes would happen Wednesday"
https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics ... -ceremony/

So, we have audio proof that Lewis said on the floor Tuesday that votes would be recorded on Sept 11.

Looks like liberals need to apologise for pushing another hoax.

You conservatives ignore all the facts you can to spin a situation your way.
