Most of these sorts of people don't want trouble, either. Many of them are life-long Republicans. They vote for any Republican candidate, no matter who it is. They might not even know too much about Trump. They just think he's the "Republican guy."

I always felt that was true. Republicans will support anybody wearing the Republican label (and Trump knew this) while Democrats are much more picky about who they support.

You have Democrats who are the same way.

Ironically, in the South before civil rights, most Southerners were absolutely diehard Democrats. They absolutely refused to vote Republican because it was the "party of Lincoln."

Is there any greater irony in this world than in the way Democrats/Republicans flipped sides and views long after the Civil War?

People have no time for nonsense.

I live in a big city. People protest all the time. There's rarely violence associated with these protests----unless somebody from some radical fringe tries to stir things up. It never goes far.

The Portland situation, where the Antifa types are fighting the "right wing fringe" types, reminds me of two gangs fighting it out with each other over "turf."

Most of the time they are attacking anyone not antifa(and few times even antifa people mistake to not look antifa) it’s not a fight cause the people don’t fight back thru try to run or ball themselves. It’s terrifying.

I believe it was nyc that had a march chant “what do we want? Dead cops. When do we want it? NOW!”

Even in the city next to me antifa has attacked random people they deem must be facist. See they can attack anyone they want and just say they facist since it’s ok to kill facist
Sure seems like calls for violence.

Are you saying that antifa attacks people who dress a certain way?

Who ever talked about "dead cops" are certainly radical fringe nuts who most of New York City just disregard.

Rather who don’t dress a certain way
One guy who is antifa was attacked cause he’s bald and so must be a skin head neo Nazi.

From wikipedia:

"The Daily Caller is a right-wing news and opinion website based in Washington, D.C. It was founded by Fox News host Tucker Carlson and political pundit Neil Patel in 2010."

Not exactly what most people would consider a reliable source of news.

Ok! But still, I find a lot of people's reactions about this pretty disturbing. It feels like some Americans actually want a civil war over Trump. :|

Are you sure?

I'm not right-wing but I can believe almost anything...

from google search and this appear in the wikipedia page:

I would need to see valid sources than from a website that posts only their opinions and bias and no facts.

It feels to me like every news website is biased. Both right-wing like Fox or leftist like CNN. :|

You could try Aljazeera...I know it has a weird name, but I find it to be more based on reporting info than being dramatic like Fox and CNN. It does lean more left as far as its bias goes(all news sources have some bais) but way different from CNN or FOX. Also its international and has journalists and reporting from all over the world so I like it to get a kind of over-view of what is going on in the world.

CNN's still right-wing. The trick is not to base the mid-point on American media, but on global media, to see what humanity as a whole considers a middle ground.

Right those are the extremes. I like Reuters and Associated Press because they give the news without a lot of partisanship and sensationalism.

I believe it's impossible to take the true pulse of our nation with regard to civil war.

The big mouths on both sides get the attention, but that's because the media covers it. When in reality they make up a small portion of the US populace.

Who are the gun owners?
Who are the gun grabbers?
Who are the ones actually prone to violence, but accomplish it with relatively crude instruments?

Who cares about a MAGA hat? Show me your neighborhoods lined with political signs, for or against Trump, and I'll show you the pulse of the US with regard to civil war.

The majority of the power wielding voters in this country are very tight lipped. Civil War would not be announced... one day, the last straw will happen and one person will nod to another and life as we know it will be forever changed.

So, for what it's worth Twi1zty, don't spend too much time worried about what these big mouths say. It would have to reach a point where both sides stand to gain way more than they would lose. And I don't believe we're there yet. Just my opinion...
