I don't think charter schools can charge; they can just turn down students they don't want.

I googled autism school in Jacksonville and there are at least three private schools with ads and websites. A child can use a McKay Scholarship to cover the tuition. The McKay is used for students who for whom it has been demonstrated that the public schools cannot meet their needs, or something like that.

It would also be a good idea to have the child apply for the Agency for Persons with Disabilities HCBS Waiver. The wait list is long and getting started now is better than waiting until it is needed. A diagnosis of autism or autism spectrum disorder is required. (There are other eligibility groups, but the one you want is autism unless she has an IQ under 70.)
