This I think touches the heart of the matter. To "rational" young white guys like yourselves, who like to think you're above your emotions, that would seem like a failing. But I disagree.

I think this emotional expression is important, because politics isn't just some horse race, or some abstract thing where no matter what happens you can just go home at the end of the day. Politics has real consequences, and what I like about the Young Turks, is how they prioritize those consequences. They show the impact politics has on real people living their real lives.

I'm guessing that would make people who would prefer to take a more detached approach feel uncomfortable.

Where do you get your "young white guys" critiques from? YouTube?

And "like yourselves"? You mean guys who are moderate to severely autistic like myself?

You suck at profiling and critiquing people. You do it a lot and you do it poorly. You often list things that go against what's well known about the person like you're some newb who came in out of the blue. It's hard to take you seriously because of stuff like that.

As for TYT it's a YouTube show, and a poorly done one, even by YouTube show standards. You being such a huge fan of it, as if it displayed journalistic integrity and professionalism, which it doesn't, also makes it difficult to take you seriously.

You say you are moderately to severely autistic do you? More autistic than thou? I seem to remember that recently in another thread you castigated me for not picking up on your sarcasm, something people on the spectrum often have a hard time with. Sure, there are autistic people who can pick up on sarcasm (and I don’t doubt you’re on the spectrum), but they’re probably on the milder end of the spectrum.

It’s hard to take you seriously.

“mild” and “moderate” autism is subjective. This is made more difficult because very often autistics can be fantastic at one thing clueless at another. All we know is that he writes well and has a strong sense of sarcasm. While his sarcasm understanding is unusually high for people on the spectrum it is very plausible he is dysfunctional enough in other areas of his life to have received a correct level 2 (moderate) diagnosis.

I didn't get that last bit. I thought she was just copying me. Actually I received a Level 3 severe diagnosis at the age of two. I developed far enough to be re-diagnosed as level 2 moderate/severe at the age of 8. I get and can deliver obvious sarcasm. But I usually don't get indirect nuance comments.

Well...theyre not clinical enough to be Dan Rather.

But theyre not emotional enough to be the norm for Fox. So theyre neither fish nor foul.

I dunno, Chunk Ogre is pretty foul, I'd say.

Funny you should say that, because the Young Turks did have Dan Rather doing a show for them for a little while:

They had Karen Straughan on once, and she made Chunk so mad that he refuses to say her name when referring to her after the fact.

So Medicare For All, the Green New Deal, getting money out of politics, and various other issues are mere “jibber-jabber”.

That’s what he spends most of his time talking.

Oh wait, you’re probably just going off your personal impression.

Yeah, that's my personal impression. He's about as exciting as a 50-pound bag of fertilizer. If there's any discernable intellect buried within his barely intelligible tirades and rants, it would require a qualified medical team to bring it back to life.

My impression is very different. This was a man who predicted the Trump presidency at a time when lots of other liberals thought he was crazy for it. He specifically pointed out how the people were wanting a populist candidate, rather than the usual establishment politician. He demonstrates a good understanding of politics, with also good analysis of the legal issues. He engages in specific advocacy for important things that matter to a lot of people, like Medicare For All and the Green New Deal. So, I guess 2 people can look at the same thing and come away with very different views of it.

Also, this is a man who is quite willing to lambaste his own party, such as a powerful segment in 2017 when he mentioned all the legislative seats that the Democrats lost during the Obama era, and mentioned the importance of taking the state legislatures. Yes, he says, Russiagate happened; granted, he doesn't have the expansive view of it others like Hillary Clinton have, where they include Tulsi Gabbard. Cenk rounded on Hillary for calling Gabbard a Russian asset. But even with Russiagate, Cenk recognizes that much of the loss in 2016 was the fault of the Democrats and the Democrats need to change their tune. They shouldn't just say "Russia" as the reason for losing.

If he pushes Russiagate he is either a liar or a moron.

Well, as wonderful as you make him sound, I'll stick with more accredited independent journalists like Aarron Mate and Max Blumenthal who debunked the Russiagate malarkey from the start.

The thing with seeing Dan Rather on TYT is it generates thoughts like "This has got to be a clever editing joke". "Did I just step into the Twilight Zone?".

Ever consider that perhaps Dan Rather has a more positive view of TYT than you do?
I'm willing to bet he's got a more informed view of them than anyone in this thread, regardless of the poster's opinion. If he's no longer working with them I'd be interested to hear why, same for why he initially started working with them.

Anyone who dares disagree with JP is a liar or a moron.

In reality probably a scenario of being retired, looking for something to do, and getting paid.
