Mainstream Mormons say that the fundamentalists aren’t Mormons because the LDS Church no longer endorses polygamy and excommunicates members who practice it.

Still, early Mormons practiced polygamy. FLDSers are just trying to get back to those roots - the Good Ol’ Days, right guys? Who wants to have 3 wives all of whom wear pastel-colored prairie dresses? Speaking for myself, I’m, alone, as much trouble as three separate women.

Anyway, they are clearly fundamentalist Mormons no matter how much the LDS Church dislikes this reminder of the past.

LOL You never know...

I think these days people would rather just sleep around than join a regressive religion.

Mormons probably give them to lots of people when they proselytize who don’t actually want them.

Some might think they want to try it and then decide: “No thanks! I like my vices too much!”

They might be leaving them in thrift stores in the hope that someone might see them and buy them. I’m constantly throwing away JW publications that they leave in various places. I help my community in whatever way I can!

Also, lots of people are leaving mainstream Mormonism. The retention rate in these sorts of religions is getting quite low.

Yeah, the Church can say they aren’t Mormons but I’m not buying it from a philosophical standpoint. It’s just simple fundamentalism to me.

So there excomunicated from the official LDS church but they follow there own interpretation of the book of Mormon.Are they Mormons? I don't know

If they were transported back to the 1860’s, would they be considered Mormons?

Probably which is why I consider them Mormons now.

Probably if they are thinking clearly. I was thinking multiple wives might be the case if something happens like the first hangover movie.

Probably which is why I consider them Mormons now.

The Mormon church is patterned after the Catholic church. And the LDS president is like their version of the Pope. So if they don't have that person as their president, I don't see how they could be.

But the idea is that the Catholic church went bad and God restored the church through the LDS. My guess is the FLDS decided the LDS church went bad and they are now the restored church.

I just figured there are a lot of Morons there because Nevada borders Utah.

Hasidic Jews don’t consider Jew of other sects “true Jews.”

But I bet they would’ve followed the early presidents. I think this pretty much boils down to wanting to practice polygamy and it’s a bonus if they can argue that this stance is justified.

I figure it's the same thing more or less. I think there is an Islam version of that too. And then the Baha'i Faith believe they are the next step in Islam. Like Christianity is viewed by Christians as the next step in Judaism.

I would think Vegas would be more likely home to exmormons than practicing Mormons. Mormons are usually very much against having vices, while Vegas is home to almost any vice you can name.

Probably mainly that, but also other concessions or amendments the LDS have made. They probably feel that Joseph Smith and Brigham Young wouldn't recognize the current LDS church.

I would think Vegas would be more likely home to exmormons than practicing Mormons. Mormons are usually very much against having vices, while Vegas is home to almost any vice you can name.

Minus the Vegas Strip and Fremont Street, Vegas is pretty much just an ordinary city like Phoenix. There are LDS churches all over the place there. Lots of Mormon missionaries zipping around on bicycles.
