Fake news!

Canadians are happy to give up a little money if it means providing healthcare to those who earn less. It’s a bit like the US military policy of “No man left behind.” The strongest ones sacrifice a little to support the weak & injured. That’s just how civilized society works.

If that were true, then they wouldn't have to be forced to do it.

They may have been “forced,” decades ago when the group plan began, but the modern attitude is that we, in general, want to keep it this way for the benefit of all.

Besides, did you even read the article? :? It costs us 75% less in admin costs to do it this way. On average, we all save money by covering everyone via single payer. It’s a no brainer!

And here conservatives betray their belief in the social hierarchy, where your place is determined by how much money you have.

Also, many of them use the term "poor people" to mean people of color.

Didn't know white people were the offspring of an Ethiopian and a lonely ATM.

This just helped explain an awful lot about the stereotypical American attitude of “I’ve got mine, so F the poor!” I wasn’t thinking about the fact that race plays a Huge role in level of wealth/income etc. Makes more sense that Some people are trying to shut POC out of healthcare more so than just poor ppl.

I don't consume healthcare! When I had to get my finger stitched back together, I wasn't thinking about what else I wanted at the mall.

It's like you're asking me to choose between pizza hut & taco bell when all I want is a damned defribulator available.

the right supports the systematic denial of affordable health care to anybody they deem socioeconomically beneath them. IMHO that is a form of back-handed genocide.
