Guys,
You probably saw on the news today.
The Security guard scandal is, err, scandalous-er.
The fun never ends, in the Socialist Republic of Victoria.

Cyberdad,
Are you an Andrews fan?

No he (Andrews) has to fall on his sword, his handling of the virus has been the worst of any state.

Victoria's troubled hotel quarantine program claims its first scalp

Victoria’s troubled hotel quarantine program has claimed its first scalp.

Department of Health Deputy Secretary Melissa Skilbeck has been removed from the state’s coronavirus response team after reports of mismanagement emerged this week.

Ms Skilbeck will however retain her position as Deputy Secretary.

No, I'd say it feels closer to living in an open ghetto, at least for the moment, but it's early days yet.

The people feeling like they are under house arrest would be those poor slobs in the hard lockdown flats.

Admittedly it's unfair if you live on the right side of the street you get to move around freely. Reminds me of the council re-zoning that resulted in neighbours having house prices 30% higher because of postcode rezoning.

Victorians will be banned from entering New South Wales from 11.59pm Tuesday night as Australia's leaders desperately try to contain the latest outbreak which continues to surge.

Sadly, there's no complaints about closing the border to the "Mexicans"...

Do many Maoris migrate from New Zealand to Australia?

Or are Aborigines now called Maoris?

They locked down the whole of Trinidad when they had under 100 cases total and 8 deaths.

I hope you folks can at least go out to exercise and get takeaway food.

It's a good thing I bought toilet paper last week.

I don't know how to put videos up but on you tube there's a good song "We didn't start the Virus"
Its a parody of Billy Joel's song "We didn't start the fire"

We get quite a few Maori's from New Zealand, along with other pacific islanders...The Aboriginies here are generally either referred to as Aboriginals or Kooris - never as Maoris.

We're still allowed takeaway, but the following restrictions are now (from Midnight tonight) in place:
Quote:
There are four reasons that you can leave home:

Shopping for food or other essential items
To provide care giving, for compassionate reasons or to seek medical treatment
For exercise (outdoor exercise only, with only one other person or members of your household)
Work or study, if you cannot work or study from home

Otherwise, you must stay home.

It's strange how having a natural preference for staying home can change into a desire to get outside when the option to do so is removed (At least we have a few square metres of back yard)...I do feel sorry for those recent immigrants and low income\housing commission residents in the towers who have been locked into their high-rise appartments for the past few days with no warning in advance of this occurring, and no arrangements for getting food to them having been put in place - When in many cases there were no people infected with the virus in the entire tower.
