Who said he wasn't part of the protesting group?

I have been keeping an eye of the newspapers for the past 15 or so years. On and off.
And noted a number of people being charged with being members of a UK neo-nazi terrorist organisation called National Action, who incidentally murdered a prominent Labour MP a number of years ago.

Some of the people who were put in prison were members of the Police and members of various armed forces.
In my experience of such people, they generally gravitate towards jobs where they will have power over people, including in prison (as prison wardens), the police, health care, traffic wardens.

As for members of the US police being involved with the capital riot.
Sure, I can believe that.

Most people have an opinion on politics or support one party of another, including police officers, health care providers, celebrities, journalists etc. And when big fish want to pull stunts like the capital riot, all they got to do is get a man behind the scenes (such as Steve Bannon, who incidentally is known to have given vast amounts of capital to various far right people to incite them to join politics... well that's what the money is officially said to have been for... but as the old saying goes, the word of a nazi isn't usually worth much, not the ethos they are proud to uphold).

So... not a surprise what has happened. You would have thought that they would have arrested and imprisoned Steve Bannon and associates after the Cambridge Analytica got shut down. But nope. I guess the people involved also got a pay out...

But there ya go. that's the world we live in now. Now Gods dead to a lot of the population, its much easier for the nazi type people to bribe people, as people aren't as moral as they used to be during the time before the second world war.
Lets hope that the world can find its way out of this mess.

Yes I remember the terrible murder of Jo Cox. National Action are a disgrace.

If one harks back to the Charlottesville protest by the far right held to prevent the removal of a slave owning Confederate general (Lee?) many of the marchers were students from nearby Virginia Tech and many were members of the US military.

According to a documentary from Vice many of the Charlottesville marchers attempted to go into hiding to prevent their identity being made public.

Coup at the capitol, I mean.

Even a layman like me questioned their involvement live in the moment.. like, uh, they’re not even trying to stop people.

International experts agree:

https://www.businessinsider.com/trump-a ... ice-2021-1

I suspect that the cop that killed himself couldn’t live with the guilt of having been involved in such a stupid plot for insane reasons. Maybe not - but I bet that’s why he offer himself. Didn’t wanna face the music.

It sounds like the article was "Feeding the Cooks", to make money.
I can't take what happened at Capitol Hill as a serious attempt at a coup.
All it could have done was to postpone the ratification of the new President.

Also, I thought the government security agencies were *anti-trump*, based on revelations of what happened with "russia-gate" .

Merit indeed. Cops all over the country are being investigated for their participation:

All the guilty ones should be jailed.

And half a dozen innocent ones, also. [joke]

So coups are only real if they are successful?

And government official could not have been held hostage or killed?

I am just going to imagine you are trolling again. It is too scary that you might actually be serious.

I might have to nick-name you "Sloppy Joe".

Yes, "coups are only real if they are successful".
If the coup doesn't succeed, it is actually an *attempted* coup.

*Was* a government official held hostage or killed?
I don't think this was the case, so what you have said is self-evidently unrealised supposition.
In *my* dimension, "reality" is real.

Calling someone a troll is a personal attack.
Noted.

Your assumption that you have the only access to reality is simply an assumption, btw.

I would be scared, too, if I was in your position.
You have met your intellectual match, after all. 8)

Lets see, this "non-coup" has resulted in six deaths. A number of bombs were found. The rioters were armed. Members of the Capitol police were beaten. Some turned up with restraints--why would they do that? There was even declarations to hang Mike Pence. Congressional offices were broken into and computers stolen. A noose was placed outside the building.

But like you said, not serious at all. At least in your "reality."

That connects with the flex rope some of the protestors were carrying which was intended to tie up anyone they caught in the capitol bld. The noose was a message they wanted to hang people.

That's why I just said----investigate the organization, too.

By the way, there's no "national police" in the United States. The Capitol Police only has jurisdiction over the area surrounding the Capitol building.

The closest thing to a "national police" in the United States is the FBI.

Ok in Australia our intelligence agency is quite seperate from our "federal police"

In the USA as well. The FBI is considered to be a part of the intelligence community, but it isn’t America’s intelligence agency. They’re the Federal Bureau of Investigation, while the CIA is the Central Intelligence Agency.

As for investigations.. they’re going all the way to the top to trump’s recent appointees in the military/national guard - the “leaders,” that delayed sending help for hours until Mike Pence ordered them to. Also, whoever is in charge of the capitol police and whatever interagency team that protects the area during mass gathering events, too, because they had a credible threat and only 20% the officers as they had on scene for the BLM protest.

Now 10,000 national guard people are being sent to DC with another 5,000 on call + more sent to every state capitol to deal with Y’all Qaeda and Vanilla Isis over the coming days leading up to January 20th.

They will need it given the MAGAs are threatening to come armed.

There is no “US police.”

The Capitol Police patrol only the area around the Capitol.

Otherwise, it’s the District of Columbia Police.

Magas + boogaloos + various militias & the rest of Y’all Qaeda and Vanilla Isis.

I joke, because it’s funny, But there are a lot of different factions of armed nut jobs in America and it wouldn’t surprise me if parts of the USA become no-go zones with random patrols of rival rednecks shooting at each other for years/decades to come. All sides will claim to be doing it for the same flag, none of them realizing that flag is Russia’s.

Trump “loves” the insurrectionists. He loves that guy with the horns. That woman who died, who believed in Qanon.

He is their “dear leader” who will assure them a lily-white America.
