This impeachment was purely political theater. Trump said nothing to incite a riot or violence of any kind.

Technically he didn't, but why did the Capitol riot take place?

You'd have to ask those who participated in the riot.

You should really do something about that vision problem, Reynie.

I'm sure they all got together and spontaneously decided it was a lovely day for a riot. Just like that.

If we are really lucky, the impeachment will be the start of a failing brand and more and more people will file on and trample him down permanently.

The higher they go, the harder they fall.

Yes that would be nice, It would prevent any further Trumps (Ivanka etc) putting their hands up to contest the 2024 election.

According to the US constitution it's where the President commits “high Crime or Misdemeanor,” and the House votes to impeach following which the Senate conducts a trial.

Trump managed to wiggle out of criminal charges in the first impeachment because he used his presidential powers to interfere with the investigation.

And because the Republican-dominated Senate basically refused to hold a reasonable trial.

Yes you are right, the interference was facilitated by the acquiescence of the republicans in the senate

I imagine its like a hypothetical scenario where NY stockbrokers vote to not prosecute Gordon Gekko (Wall Street) because they share his belief that 'greed is good"
