Wrong, there would be recognizably man-made sequences AKA GMOs visible in said virus' genetic makeup.

No, I work with mapping software, which is also relevant here. My mom is a microbiology PhD & runs pharmaceutical trials for a living. You can bet your asses I'd be hearing about it if there were any man-made aspect of this virus. The human factor consisted of a lacking response to isolated outbreaks.

Ok, but that still doesn't rule out the possibility of a NATURAL virus being leaked out from biolab by accident (not man made; if virologists are saying so then science wins the argument hands down) .

Like how it happened in 2004 with the old SARS, in China; the Wuhan P4 biolab is a very odd coincidence don't you think? You're a computer scientist I guess, so you should estimate the probability of that to happen randomly; I mean there's probably hundreds of wet markets in China alone and only 40 of such P4 labs in the entire world mostly in the US; yet in emerged in the wet market at the very proximity of that one P4 lab. Do the math.

I knew it all along. The Chinese government wants the rest of the world dead so that they can take over the world. The scary thing is, this virus isn't deadly enough, as so many people have survived it. So next time they'll probably release an even deadlier virus that will wipe out like 90% of the population outside China.

(Ps, I am only against the government of China, not Chinese people themselves).

Seriously tho, what makes me concerned most or my covid is the long-terms effect; I read that about 20% of covid survivors, including the asymptomatic ones; had heart damage. Imagine the lifespan damage this will cause for millions of people.

Covid-19 seems to be a heart disease more than anything.

why did the US and Canada give that lab money? to the tune of $600,000?

My understanding is that it was set up in China to avoid ethics approval due to the serious threat it poses to populations in the vicinity in case of outbreak. What the Americans didn't count on was the poor containment protocols that allowed an animal infected with COVID-19 to escape from the facility into the nearby wet markets.

This was infact the claim made by Vice president Mike Pence in early 2020 and is one of the few things to come from the GOP that is likely accurate.

I had COVID---a very mild case, though it lasted three weeks.

After COVID, I lost 25 pounds. I walk at least 10 miles a day now. My lung capacity is not diminished in the least.

SARS leaked from lab in China before .....TWICE!. What's so unbelievable about that it may have happened third time?

Not everything in the Trump era must be necessarily wrong or fabricated.

And those same WHO scientists have been advising people against the usage of masks(except health workers) for months before admitting their mistake.

So why would they keep quiet now? They came clean despite the consequences in the past. Even if it was asymptomatic they would recognize their virus.
Why would it be of the same strain with the original virus detected in bats? They can trace back the virus evolvements back to its first form. And that's undeniably in bats. That strand is directly contagious to humans, so it needn't have been necessarily modified in the lab within tests to contaminate humans.
And if it was a plan why would they release it on their own people to be easily detectable?

@blabby - it's not the markets, its hygiene and safety, illegalizing them will make people do it in worse conditions & unregulated, much like sex workers help decrease rape and illegal sex job risks. People still eat and butcher monkeys despite AIDS.

It can be easy to acknowledge conspiracy theories if you study them a bit. And religious conspiracy. Antivax ones. Illuminati. They even have labels now.
Yet is seems like an equally horrid virus is conspiracy.

The Chinese CCP keep repeating that the virus is foreign. It's not implausible that the virus was engineered using foreign money which may be a coded way the CCIP are saying that they aren't responsible for the virus (even if they lab protocols are suspect and their wet markers are a breeding ground for escaped pathogens)
