I can both be discriminating/independent *and* agree *or disagree* with concepts on either side of the political divide.
I despise big business, as an example.

I am anti-Trump.
I am pro-universal health systems.
What part of "Independent" don't you understand?
If the left of politics focused on rationality, rather than emotionalism...
If the left of politics embraced objectivity, integrity and reason rather than sanctimony, self-righteousness and virtue-signalling...
I would engage with both ideologies on a more equal basis.
Sadly, "wokeness" seems to be synonymous with being a progressive.
