I'm glad somebody else pointed this out. In a number of platforms its been banned as a form of profane slur against Joe Biden

Doesn't that just feed the martyr complex though? You don't need to ban people acting foolish unless it's actually disruptive and even then it's for being disruptive, not for their non-profane profanity.

I don't think people are banned, rather posts are removed. I've seen it take off (go viral) on right wing podcast comments/feed,

Right, but isn't that where one would expect to find it?

Matrix Glitch said it was being removed from a forum where the rules are probably biased more towards decorum than driving engagement, whereas a lot of other platforms would prefer to drive engagement by letting the pissing matches unfold.

You can justify removing it from a forum if it's being used to troll, but removing it as profanity seems dumb since it's not, it's just a silly euphemism. In any other context (like a comments section on social media) it's pointless to bother policing it because that only feeds into the mindset.

I'm familiar with the word independent, that doesn't mean you don't have obvious biases or that those biases don't influence the stances you take.

Of course, I have a bias. 8O
Where have I ever suggested I didn't?

I can both be discriminating/independent *and* agree *or disagree* with concepts on either side of the political divide.
I despise big business, as an example. :eew:
I am anti-Trump.
I am pro-universal health systems.
What part of "Independent" don't you understand? 8O

If the left of politics focused on rationality, rather than emotionalism...
If the left of politics embraced objectivity, integrity and reason rather than sanctimony, self-righteousness and virtue-signalling...
I would engage with both ideologies on a more equal basis. 8)

Sadly, "wokeness" seems to be synonymous with being a progressive. :?

I'd be impressed if they did the same when it came to profanity against Trump.
There are a lot of double standards aboot.

Not protecting him.
Servicing fair-mindedness. 8)

Something like:
Quote:
“I think Democrats have to look in the mirror now,” said CNN contributor, Van Jones, on election night. “I think Democrats are coming across in ways that we don’t recognize, that are annoying, offensive, and seem out of touch in ways that don’t show up in our feeds, in our echo chamber —”

“When you’re talking about ‘our,’” interrupted Anderson Cooper, “you’re talking about Democrats?”

“Democrats” confirmed Jones

“Because,” said Cooper, “it seems annoying to a lot of people.”

Former advisor to Barack Obama, David Axelrod, agreed. “I think the attitude [of Democrats] is important,” he said. “The Democratic Party has become a more college-educated and urban party coalition with minority voters and the messages tend to be moralizing.”

“Moralizing,” agreed Jones. “Self-righteous.”

“It’s, ‘We’re going to tell you what’s right,’” said Axelrod.

Democratic political strategist James Carville was even more blunt. "What went wrong is stupid wokeness,” he told PBS. “Don’t just look at Virginia and New Jersey. Look at Long Island, Buffalo, look at Minneapolis, even look at Seattle, Washington. I mean, this ‘Defund the police!’ lunacy. This, ‘Take Abraham Lincoln’s name off of schools!’... people see that. And it really has a suppressive effect on all across the country on Democrats. Some of these people need to go to a woke detox center or something.”
