Instead of helping to pass a resolution congratulating Barbados on stepping away from their colonial past the Tories decided to have a sing-a-long of God Save the Queen. :roll:

This has been debated in the Australian parliament for many years - the merits of remaining in the commonwealth.

Interestingly both Guyana and Trinidad have elected black prime ministers. This is similar to other colonies where the majority are Indian such as Fiji, Mauritius and Seychelles in the Indian ocean. In the case of Fiji the democratic process was usurped by indigenous Fijians.
