I never even heard of Rogan till now and I decided to find that podcast people are upset about. I assume this is Robert Epstein and he claims he is blocked on google so I decided to look him up and what do you know, results about him pop up.

I thought it was over Rogan’s podcast with Dr. Robert Malone, one of the inventors of the mRNA vaccines and he has been outspoken about the vaccine and talked about the new buzzword, mass formation psychosis. I could be wrong.

Yeah, I believe it was over Dr. Malone.

This is such insanity. Even if Malone has a counter argument to the official narrative -' right or wrong -- it's still ridiculous to try to shut down his argument.

For the people who chant, "Listen to the science, " what they don't seem to comprehend is science should always be scrutinized. That's what he's doing. To me, shutting down alternative thoughts on this issue is a major red flag.

Well darn, I am listening to the wrong podcast then, I will look for Dr. Malone.

That explains why I couldn't find his song Heart of Gold on spotify last night when I wanted to listen to it, so had to go to youtube.

I mean to be honest this is making me rethink my spotify subscription, I suppose it may be time to start looking for an alternative to spotify. I don't want to give my money to a 'music streaming' service who would choose to have Joe Rogans BS spewed over Neil Youngs music.

As far as I am concerned, this puts a lock on the whole issue:

. . . As so many celebrities and semi-celebrities Rogan has been weird for a time. His use of sensory deprivation and the isolation tank, for instance, has allowed him to gain various insights into the nature of consciousness and improvement of performance, health, well being and creativity -- according to himself, of course.  But his primary application for inclusion is his endorsement of virtually the whole gamut of conspiracy theories -- yes, Rogan is just JAQing off, except that, as with most people JAQing off, he isn’t really just asking questions.  He is finding holes in the official stories.  And you know what that implies about his mindset.  And to add fuel to the fire Rogan seems to bring up his conspiracy nuttery at pretty much every and any possible opportunity.

Diagnosis: Conspiracy nut, but Rogan does not appear to be as deeply mired (or as irrevocably lost to reason) as someone like Alex Jones.  This may still end well, though it probably won't.

There is Pandora. I also use YouTube for music.

Perhaps, also, the fact that Spotify's CEO, Daniel Ek, is Swedish plays a small part of the decision. Freedom of speech is fiercely defended, unlike what is happening in the U.S.

The absurdity of deplatforming people over perceived misinformation is mind-boggling -- debunking it is how it should be handled. Censorship is totally repugnant to me. Keeping an open conversation surrounding Covid and vaccines is necessary. People championing Rogan's removal just don't understand what is going on.

Let's not forget that CNN lied about Ivermectin, and when Rogan exposed the lies, they doubled down on their BS.

Freedom of speech does not mean companies that provide online platforms for streaming and online social interaction have to allow everyone to say whatever they want there. All it means is the government cannot penalize you for speech unless it specifically is inciting violence (like threatening someone or groups of people) or mass chaos/panic(like yelling fire in a crowded movie theater).

It's just some people think Freedom of speech means 'I get to say whatever I want whenever I want and people have to listen to me and even provide me with online platforms to reach more people even if they don't want to!. When in reality freedom of speech also means people don't have to listen to you or provide you with any means to reach more people if they don't like what you say.

Laugh all you want.  It is EoAL and other similar websites that give me insight to all the "loons" gullible people seem to follow.

Critical thinking is more than just saying "I disbelieve" and rolling a natural 20.  It involves checking the files of at least a dozen websites to not only distinguish factual content from fantasies, but experts from delusional loons.

Of course, it also helps to have a formal education in STEM fields, but you should probably already know that.

Bottom line: Jim Rogan's "Looney-Toon" ravings bring in more money for Spotify that Neil Young's musical talent, so of course the people running Spotify followed the money.

Yes, yes! Private companies! That argument is getting very tiresome. Sorry, but that does not negate the fact that the people doing the censoring have an interest in maintaining the corporate state, and controlling the narrative.

Nobody who continually comes at me with this argument will ever address that's it's far better to counter misinformation with debunking it , rather than censoring it. Show me one one historical example where censorship ever leads to anything positive.

Yet, when misinformation is debunked, you respond with ridicule and further entrenchment in your beliefs.

Spotify is not that well-loved by musicians generally. It doesn't pay well. Working musician's joke: "Great news! My track got a hundred thousands plays on Spotify and they sent me a whole 8 cents!" For anyone outside a handful of A-listers, it's a waste of time and may actually detract from CD sales and Bandcamp downloads, both of which are far more profitable for musicians.

hmm I forgot about pandora, may be worth looking into again....I tried it years ago and thought the selection was kind of lacking but that was years ago so there may be a lot more music on there now.

None of that validates my primary point, though. I'm sure you don't get it, and I really don't feel like beating my head against the wall any further.
