I don't see how. I've seen and read about genuine invasions and that didn't really come close to one compared to those. When a real invasion takes place the people who achieved it don't just go home after a couple of hours.

I don't know what country you're in. Maybe you're American.

But how would you feel if, say, the Swedish Parliament building was broken into, and vandalized, on the day an election was to be made official?

Focusing on the actions of those who breached the capital misses the main plot, which was to get Pence to overturn the results. The protestors and rioters were just additional pressure. The real plot was in the fake electors and pressure on Pence. There were multiple angles being worked at the same time, with the real meat of it lying outside of the highly visual breach.

Pay attention to what the Jan 6 commission is learning. We were perilously close to having our constitution subverted and losing our Democracy. You take a hundred little things that may not seem like all that big a deal on their own, but when put together show a very disturbing picture. That is how things happen in today's world: subversive step by subversive step. You'll never see it coming if you keep focusing on the show.

Yep....our democracy was threatened.

I feel like the "show" is more than enough evidence for this.

I'm focused on the "show" because of its symbolism. The violation of the sanctity of the Capitol.

Yes, I'm aware of all that was occurring "behind the scenes." The insidiousness of it all.

Trump warned us a few times that something dramatic was going to happen January 6th, 2021.

They were allowed to come in, they made a commotion, and then they went home a couple of hours later. This is one of those events where as you say the drama isn't evident on the surface, therefore it has to be dredged up.

You write that as if the idea there was a threat to our Democracy is manufactured drama. If that is what you believe, you haven't been following the evidence the commission is uncovering as to just how hard Trump was working around the law in order to stay in office. If Pence hadn't been adamant about following the law, we would have had a constitutional crisis. It's no small thing.
