Ah, but they're YOUNG drivers you see! Shouldn't be on the road! However, Mrs. Peggarty who's 154 who has almost ran over about ten people is perfectly alright to drive because she hasn't killed anyone yet.

I've just sent a letter to the local newspaper in which I outed myself. We shall see what happens.

Yes, it can. I just heard the cell phone ringer version of the sound they are talking about, it was painful... I can't imagine walking down the street and hearing it without clenching my teeth at the thought. So, imagine you happen to be one of those unfortunate people that thinks it's painful to listen to. :(

Well, the local paper was printed today. I made the front page! When I went past the local Co-Op they had the machine turned off. Ah, what a coincidence! I also have the possibility of taking this further so I shall see what happens. Watch this space.

great job tequila. there has been some discussion of using mosquitos here in Australia, i find this to be a horrific answer to a fairly mundane issue.
I have sensitive hearing, not quite supersensitive, but enough to cause problems.
There was a boy i knew who thought it was funny to play his so called silent ringtone in my presence, because he knew that my instant reaction is to slap myself in the head. Its not painful persay... but its itches and you cannot scratch the insides of your head. longer exposure to the sound causes headaches and nuasea. He eventually stopped annoying me like this, after i actually mentioned it to him. He can be a nice guy, he was diagnosed with ADD at the same time i was diagnosed AS, we seem like siblings even though we are unrelated.
I have overcome a very debilatating fear of peopled places and i am not alone in this. If the Mosquito were to be employed this would remove my ability to shop for myself in that locale; How is this going to increase takings? or decrease costs?

I very much doubt the Mosquito will ever be employed again locally. A legal threat from serious lawyers is on its way.

Fortunately we don't have that sort of thing here in the States. I feel sorry for you guys in the UK.

They recently brought these devices to the US. Yahoo had a story a couple days ago of one being installed in NYC. I couldn't find the article but I found another one that states the police in SC got one a few months ago.

Every Geezer's Dream: British Bring Teen Repellent To States
"In October of 2007 the Richland County Sheriff's Office in South Carolina became the first U.S. organization to deploy the device. The test deployment included units being placed at the Columbia Mall, a popular youth hangout. Compound Security Systems provided the test units free of charge to drum up business stateside. The police Sheriff Leon Lott was ecstatic at the chance to deploy the technology"
