To make sure they know their place below us? Take Liberties? Are we talking about wolves here?
of course. wolves are intelligent, social creatures with a pack nature. they communicate.
Correct me if I misunderstod your previous statement...but you're saying you want wolves to
know their place beneath us?

but they've been romanticised by the media. you can't deny that?
I don't know about the media in those parts, I can see why such a thing is necessary. If people are going to protect wolves, or any endangered animal for that matter, they need to have their negative image lifted.

I doubt farmers would hunt wolves to extinction, but I agree with SilverProteus' hunting license idea.
Also, why do people think that humans being the top species is inherently evil? in order to act as though we're the top, we need to squash other animals that try to harm us or damage our pursuits. we're animals too, you know.
Leave the farmers to take it into their own hands and they will do damage. It's not good. They're worried solely about their cattle, and not about the wolves or maintaining a balance in numbers.
I never said I think humans are inherently evil for being the top species. I just think we're (as a species) too selfishly preoccupied with ourselves and not our planet.

Ecosystems included.
A hypothetical example: say we drive wolves to extinction. Let's say the rabbit population for example, in result, goes up in numbers and start to eat man's crops. There are less natural predators to control them. What then?
These things aren't as simple as 'just start to kill them'.
