You're really on a roll today, huh? At the risk of damaging my carefully cultivated image, here's a picture of me playing with one of my fat cats:
Image
I'd post some even cuter ones my ex took, but my credibility would never recover...

Unless you'd consider free-feeding cruel, the only time my pets suffer is at bath time, and to tell you the truth the one in the picture kind of likes that (my other cat tries to disappear whenever I run water in the bathroom). My grandmother FOUNDED the ASPCA chapter in Arizona, trust me, cruelty to animals would never be tolerated in my family.

Again, you're making unfounded assumptions about people based on political stance, you've been saying things like this about me pretty much since my position on guns became clear. Nowhere on this board have I ever stated anything even remotely sociopathic, or even cruel. I'm logical, and that may come off as cold, but as an Aspie you really ought to know better. I think anyone who's read a few of my posts has a pretty good idea of what I'm about, and it's not the picture that you're trying to paint, so you only lose further credibility when you make personal attacks like this.

My cat is named Dixie and has black&white colouring. Dox, I take back the sociopath ad hominems. Guns are your whole life, but you're not a complete monster. I'm relieved.

Cute pictures of the trigger happy guy and his cat. Maybe you can take out your aggression without hurting animals.
I agree, this world would be a much better place if everyone had to kill their own food. I'm a vegetarian. To each his own.
At least consider taking action to stop the slaughter of the noble wolf.

Oookaaayyy...

This video was a sentimentalist piece of B.S.

Having said that. I always supported the reintroduction of wolves into yellowstone. I firmly believed they were and essential part of maintaining a balanced eco-system there.

They are leaving the park though. Wolves range far, and junior or omega members will often leave or get pushed out of the pack.

I saw a pair when I was driving our of Cody Wy. Pulled off of the side of the road to watch them, down in a little valley. (The road was on a hill, so I got to see everything.)

One black and one gray. They were hunting. Stalking. A cattle herd not 400 yards over a hill from them. Those cows didn't even know the wolves were there. I watched the black wolf stalk and then spook a bunch of deer straight into an ambush where the gray was waiting; who missed and they gave up the chase.

They didn't even look at the cows. Ignored them completely. I was wishing for a video camera.

Not vicious killers. Yes they can co-exist with people, and live stock. The video however.

Just because you hunt does not mean you are "trigger-happy". Just because you like to shoot or are "trigger-happy" doesn't mean you are excessively violent to anyone or anything. This is a ridiculous and biased implication.

Yes, I guess it is a bit sentimental. I guess I am naive to think that people can have a heart. It bothers me that wolves and animals get mistreated simply because they are of a "lower order". I was just hoping to gain some sympathy for their plight.

Hey, I just had an epiphany!

Here lies the answer to stop war and suffering. Get laid!

What makes you think that I'm trigger happy, or that I take out my aggression by hurting animals? Like Slowmutant, you're making assumptions about me based on my political stance that quite simply aren't true. To be honest with you, I've never used a gun on any living thing, and if I did it certainly wouldn't be to deal with any sort of personal aggression.

People in my family hunt, but I never have, not because I don't want to, I've just never had the opportunity. I support hunting rights because I believe in them, and because hunters are some of the most conservation minded people out there, many parks and preserves are paid for by hunters and other outdoor sportsmen. Like I said before, animals are killed by other animals on a regular basis, it's the natural order, and man is just another animal when you get right down to it. The way permits are issued prevents over-hunting, and the fees help pay for conservation efforts.

People get this knee-jerk image of hunters and gun owners in general, and it gets really frustrating always being on the defensive when these subjects come up. That's why I'm so easily baited on gun issues on this board, being an educated and well spoken gun owner makes me feel obligated to correct misconceptions when I see them, even when the effort is probably wasted.

People who hunt... Okay. Scratch that. Responsible people who hunt are going to make sure they are good marksmen before they ever try to shoot a living thing, to do their best to minimize suffering.

Marksmanship in and of itself can become addicting. My father in law can wax poetic about Colt and Remington, scopes, barrells and spirals, ammunition, wind factor... on and on. He is not a violent man.

They are nifty little machines in and of themselves. I won't deny that there is a certain dark allure to the fact that these are machines designed to kill something, but most of them (the people who use them that is  ) understand responsibility first. There are always psychos out there, but they would look for a weapon no matter what was available.

Just because he has that picture as his avatar does not mean he is violent or obsessed with killing things. Of course that doesn't mean he isn't. Only time will tell. But to assume it is or slap or to imply a stereotype on some one based on one interest is small minded and shallow.

It's like people assuming that you (S.M.) must be a fundamentalist because of the vehemence of the religious beliefs you have expressed.

I got beat to the punch on most of my points, but yes, how do you get from me holding a gun to me being a sociopath or me shooting animals? It's that stereotyping that offends me, "I am a gun owner therefore I must be ignorant or a redneck or cruel to animals etc". The only thing you should infer from my avatar is that I like guns, no more no less. You seem to favor religious iconography yourself, so you must want people to know at least in part what you are about. Same with me, guns are a significant part of my life so my choice in avatar is going to reflect that.

I'm sorry for jumping to conclusions. I called you trigger happy as a polite term of endearment. Notice how I didn't say psychopath?
Please forgive me and slowmutant for misinterpreting you by your avatar. If I saw you on the street holding a gun I'd be sure to smile and say hello.

Okay, I'll stop being a smart ass. I love wolves. They are so cool. Please sign a petition not to kill them.

My comment was neither stupid nor irrelevant.
