ahh, but would you think he was homosexual if he built a male version instead? he may have built her because he doesn't have the skills required to get a girlfriend, but then again that does describe quite a few guys on here so i would go calling him a loser because of it, even i might get offended
as for the 'assisting disabled/looking like a whore' argument all i can say is this, everything needs a prototype

besides, some old people don't feel comfortable around high tech gadgets and so if they look somewhat 'human' they may feel more at ease around them, and as for the sensor/slapping when being touched without permission thing i think it could be positive, if you had severe social issues and didn't know what was right or wrong would you rather touch a robot and get slaped and learn rather than touching another human and getting arrested/imprisoned?
I see your point however the traditional images of robots via science fiction has always been of a male robot with the exception of the Jetson's robot Rosie. Now the fact this japanese guy events a hot looking fembot is pretty obvious what he does with her at home. Its well known there is a gender inbalance in Asia where there are not enough women to go around and this guy obviously made her for sex.
As someone who is physically disabled I will say I would not want a human looking robot. And even as a lesbian I would not want a female robot, but would prefer a traditional male Robbie the Robot type instead. And as far as learning where not to touch 99% of the disabled already know that just like you do. We're not stupid, so we wouldn't be in need of a robot to slap us when touched inappropriately. If I had a robot I would be asking him to go to Sonic to fetch a milkshake at midnight, carry in my grocery bags, drive me places and carry me back to the car when I hike too far and my knee gives out. It would not be for sex and I would much prefer a semi-human more machine looking robot like C3PO. (but less shiney metal because the metallic reflections bother me)
