I see this is MizLiz thread to complain and whine about how she hates this AFF site. Apparently people on that site are not allowed to have opinions that differ from MizLiz's opinion. MizLiz, you need to calm down, are you angry because you got banned or something from that site?
I do enjoy how you picked out threads from over two years ago to
I don't see why I should tell a sperm bank that I have AS. It's not a disease. I wouldn't tell a sperm bank that I had AS if I was to donate sperm. I believe the person on that site wants to be viewed or have equals rights as an NT. There is nothing wrong with that.
The point is that it's deception. AS may not be a disease but ASDs can cause real difficulties for individuals and their families; those difficulties can go beyond cultural, and while I don't view it as something to be eradicated (to me it's like saying that genes for dyspraxia or the potential to sunburn should be eradicated), the family should know what to expect for both the child's sake and their own. A lot of us are victims of late or mis-diagnosis, and those at Aspies for Freedom should know well enough that the system is flawed and many individuals suffer needlessly just because they have missed out on being diagnosed- so why create a situation where an individual may potentialy slip through the cracks- not receive the help that they need early on and have real difficulties for it? It isn't fair, and why do we need to 'spread the genes around' (seems to partly be Gareth's motive) anyway? What's so special about us compaired to nts and people with other disabilities? Please tell me what I'm missing because I just don't get it.
