Of course this doesn't say much, if the Travoltas refused to treat him in a way which would help him adjust to society, rather than just let him rot away.

I think Preston may have been one of the victims here. There's no real conclusive evidence right now, but it seems as though she wanted to help him get better, while John was more worried about public relations with both him and Scientology.



This may be the case. But keep in mind, mainstream media usually reports what is given to them via press releases. This is most likely so they can get credited with record news delivery.

Also, Glosslip was a site originally intended for celebrity gossip and goings-on, but the owner of Glosslip got into Scientology criticism sometime last year, and has been posting articles on its dangerous practices whenever one of their celebrities turns up in the news with something that might invoke some kind of criticism (for example, see "Katie Holmes' purple hands", associated with the "purification rundown").

There's no way Jett had autism. He gave too good of eye contact to be autistic. He just had Kawasaki disease.

And from what the reports are saying it wasn't the seizure that killed him but him busting his head on the bathtub after having the seizure that really killed him.

Mmmm, have to disagee with you on that Ticker!! Until an announcement is made, NONE of us should make any assumptions as to whether he was or wasn't! Maybe it would be more appropriate to say In My opinion?

Who knows the full story.................I am smelling something nasty though................a sniff of Scientology!

Oooh by the way.......................Autistics can give VERY good eye contact so please don't assume on that basis! Here is a case study of an autistic child who managed very good eye contact

I have to disagree with you on the eye contact. I've met a lot of autistics in person at AS gatherings and also have several autistic spectrum family members. I've not seen an autistic person yet that was good at eye contact. Such a person would be extremely rare.

Also I have a little experience with seizures in my younger years. So I have to say the time I whacked my head on the bathroom sink caused me more physical injury than the seizure itself. So I think its highly likely the reports on HLN today that busting his head killed him makes sense.

We are going to have to agree to disagree then!! No hard feelings!

I am autistic and one of my children is diagnosed with autism. The other 4 are diagnosed with ADHD and Aspergers, PDDnos and ADD! So we pretty much cover all bases! I can promise you that my kids and some that I am working with have brilliant eye contact, sometimes too much........can be stary or scary sometimes!!

Having no inside knowlege of whether Jett was deffo on the spectrum or not, it is difficult to say WHERE on the spectrum he could be! His father certainly shows traits! Did you know that a high proportion of kids with ADHD for example have some form of epileptiform activity going on in their brains? Not that I am saying Jett WAS epileptic BUT .......................epilepsy and scientology don't mix, so who knows!

What I do know for sure is that that boy had by all accounts a bit of a miserable life..............

Let's hope we get the truth..................one day!

Kind of on this subject, I got a call from my mom last night around 8:00 PM saying that someone on "Access Hollywood" said that John Travolta's son died of autism.

I couldn't stop laughing during this conversation. I'm not sure they went out and out and said it, but I watched the access hollywood again when it came on at 2:00 AM and they spent more time on Jett Travolta possibly being autistic than anything else.

I had to slowly explain to her that it is completly impossible to die from autism. She wouldn't calm down until I told her to call up our family physician who assured her that Jett Travolta died from hitting his head having a seizure, and that yes, it is possible to be autism and epileptic, but if someone who is Autistic dies from a seizure, they died from a seizure, not the autism. I

This "Access Hollywood" report stated that the reasons they believe Jett Travolta was autistic include "didn't like to talk to people" (I like to talk to people, but i'm not good at starting a conversation), "didn't like to be touched" (I don't, only when someone touches me suddenly) and another third stereotypical autistic trait. "AH" seemed like they really tried to push that someone can die of Autism. I'm just really getting sick of the media blaming autism for everything.

I AGREE!! Don't blame Autism.................BUT...............................from what I have read ( I am in the UK, so probably not as up on the latest as my US cousins!) that the Travolta's 'MAY' not have accessed Jett to the right specialists, treatment or medication? Now if that IS the case ( I am speculating so this is JUST MY OPINION) then the Travolta's must surely be asked some poignant and pertinent questions. Every child matters.

Not being able to 'initiate' a conversation is a major nightmare for many if not all on the spectrum.......for meaning anyway! I do and I am ADHD with the biggest gob in the world!!

is it wrong to use jett travolta's death as a scare tactic? my dad does this to manipulate me into getting me to agree with him when i don't agree with a decision he makes (that i had no say in) that he thinks will benefit me seeing as "I'm SOO disabled!!" (OOOH!! ! )
I take TWO kinds of medication for my epilepsy, i use an alarm, i use a pill box with the days of the week on it and i keep up with refills on my computer! Leave me alone and let Jett Travolta rest in peace!

I give good eye contact. Also who cares if it is autism. It's still something that's suspicious and may be wrong.

It's no longer news and it's certainly not current, so it's probably best to put this thread to rest along with Jett Travolta.
