Do You truly believe in what You believe in the end. To take even Me on in the end. Please do and understand for Who We are all and Understand for Us all that should be understood by all of Us in the end for us. Please understand this for us all for it is the beginning for us all here at the Wrong Planet that in the end We have created for all of Us all in the end. We have become something in the end for all what we have become for all that is and what is for us all.

assuming that natural disasters are "punishment" or that physical illnesses are "punishment" for "sins" is arcaiac and assinine.
What is a "sin" for you may not be for the next guy. And who is pat Robertson to judge anyone?!?
thats like saying that my bad karma is the reason everyone here gets indigestion after eating my chilli.... or that by my turning on a light in my closet I have doomed the world to eternal damnation by using too much fossal fuels.....
I think that the term "s#%& happens" is in application here.
Wow. Do something crazy, like go home for the night, and suddenly there's too much back stuff to reply to it all. Lots of it really good stuff, too.
What is a "sin" for you may not be for the next guy. And who is pat Robertson to judge anyone?!?
I disagree with you that what is a "sin" for you may not be for the next guy.
Let's define 'sin'. I don't know anything about the following website, except that it popped up in my google search, and had a useful definition.
Sin is anything that is contrary to the law or will of God. For example: if you lie, you have sinned. Why? Because God has said not to lie (Exodus 20:16). If you do what God has forbidden, then you have sinned. In addition, if you do not do what God has commanded, you sin (James 4:17).
http://www.carm.org/dictionary/dic_s.htm
So it is incorrect to say 'what is sin for one person may not be a sin for someone else' It only matters if God considers it a sin.
It is true that the idea of retribution for sin is an ancient idea, so is the idea of 'sin' itself. But just because it's been around a long time, doesn't make it wrong.
"Sure, officer, I killed those ten people -- but for crying out loud. Prohibitions against murder have been around since before the ancient Babylonians. Thousands of years ago! You really want to hold me to such an archaic moral system????"
As for it being assinine -- instead of simply declaring it to be assinine, you could give some support for your position.
Who is Pat Robertson to judge? Doesn't everyone have a right to speak out on what public figures do? If Sharon was a private citizen, then it would be rude to single him out. But surely people are free to talk about whether a governmental leader is behaving in a moral way.
And surely a religious leader, like Mr. Robertson, has both a right and a Duty to instruct his flock. He would be remiss in his duty, if he didn't talk about it -- perhaps through his teaching, people will realize that what they're doing is wrong, and stop doing it. I'm certain that the last thing Mr. Robertson wants is for the day of Judgment to come, and he find out that there are people who could have been saved, but weren't, simply because he didn't go out and let them know what they were doing wrong.

everyone has a right to speak out, but when a person has a "flock" of followers, they should be responsible enough to lead in an objective manner. but that I suppose would defeat his purpose....
As far as sin goes, I should have clarified. I wasnt limiting my inclusions on the definition of sin to just Christians, I was also was including others. For example, as a woman I can walk about with out covering all but my eyes, however in some Islamic cultures, it would be sinful (as well as aginst the law) to do that. Or the eating of un kosher foods would be sinful to an orthodox Jew, but not to a southern baptist.... see where Im comming from? Its all objective. Sure, some sins are generaly universial, like killing some one, or stealing, but others are not as "sinful" to some religious groups as another. Even with in the Christian faith there are some things that are dismissed by one denomoniation yet accepted by another. Drinking achol. is one of these. So, yes, "Sin" is an objective description. Depending on your religion, or interpratation of your religion some things are not sins. Each religion decides what God thinks is or isnt right, so again in that, it is mankind that defines the concept of sin by assuming that God does or does not want this or that.
Atributing disasters and other "out of man's control events" to the hand of God is a coping mechnisim. We can not control hurricanes, floods, etc and we (those of us that believe in God) atribute these things to his will. Its easier for many, including myself, to hand off the difficult things to being the "will of God" than it is to accept the fact that we, as mere mortals, can not and will not ever have total control of everything. To say that God was sitting up in heaven and slamming the "smite button" at the "sinners" is a cop out. And for a person that weilds power over others (physically, spiritually, or whatever) to spout that kind of thing out publicly shows that leader is either weak, or calculating in his attempt to lead those that are weaker.
I, even as a Christian, do not for a moment pretend to believe that I can even begin to fathom the depths of the mind of God. But I do take exception to those that think that they, as mere mortals, can decide what God does and doesnt like by interprating scriptures and quoting passages. God did not WRITE the words in the Bible; he inspired others to. God did not take into his/her hands the pen and scribe the passages that people quote and follow. Man choose the books to be included, man penned the pasages, translated the words, etc.
Religion can not prosper, not can it profit (no pun intended) if the people are not kept afraid that their deeds will throw things for or aginst them. Its called control, and with out that, the religions die out or morph into something else.
again, its my opinion. And I am no theologian, but I have an open mind. And if an open mind is a one way ticket to hell, (as I am so often told) then I expect God isnt as forgiving as everyone says he is... oh wait, I forgot, he only forgives the sins of those that make the rules and who publically judge others.....
*note the sarcasm*

Doesn't everybody have the right to speak out against any public figure?
Including the leaders who claim to have the moral right on their side; God.
And Mr. Robertson is a politician as well, his ego has led him to make a bid for the white house.
Baaaa! Baaaa!
Here is the difference. As you just stated, he is speaking to sheep. People who follow his word as the final word of God. Do any of these followers hope to one day be in a position as to be the leader of Israel?
Since they would not, then what is his purpose for making these statements? Certainly not for caution. Since it is not applicacable to them , their current situation, nor their future situation.
His words are words of judgement, interpreted and justified, by some portions of the bible. And they ignore and are cause for rebuke from other portions of the Bible.
His remarks serve no greater purpose than to lend himself to a moral higher ground. And the divisiveness of his words to me are based in bigotry. Just as Job had no right to question God, Pat is left with no rights as well. His words served no greater purpose, and they had no intention of being helpful. He simply did not think before he spoke, and this has become common practice by him, over the past several years; EGO.
Yes but for a different reason than you stated.
He doesn't look forward to judgement day because, just like the Pharasies (religious leaders of old) he will be rebuked for being a hipocrite and a judge.
His actions are the sam as the actions that Jesus found so conteptuous, in his time here on earth.
Pat needs to learn to shut his trap, when it is 'in his opinion' and stick to the teachings which are applicable to his Flock.
