And maybe they got a bit caught up in the fervour of the crowd and got emotional, I can understand that too.
But I'm having trouble imagining what was in their minds as they scaled the walls and broke through police lines? What were they expecting to achieve? I mean, as a coup attempt it was a bit of a mess.
Based on what I understand, their protest wouldn't have achieved anything by disrupting proceedings.
The results were already digitally archived in a number of places.
To me, it seems it wasn't insurrection.
It was a riot in protest against alleged vote-rigging.
Nothing the rioters could have done would have changed the inevitable election win by the Democrats.
