I'll get the eau de vie, you start chanting the power of Proudhon compels you.

I’m going to need to buy a new crucifix. The last one was put to a nefarious purpose...

It’s harder to get a Green Card than you think. Basically, people have to marry an American citizen to get one.

If there was an Ellis Island type place, then the vast majority who came here illegally would be legal immigrants.

Most immigrants want a better life for their children.

I care what Trump writes. He makes himself look foolish.

And I think it's contrived ( the foolish part ). He's obviously got a niche, he's a businessman. That's what I voted for him to be. I'm tired of well spoken useless idiots (to the vast majority of everyday, hardworking Americans). They get up, speak liquid gold and only benefit the rejects. Maybe some people here consider themselves rejects, I personally don't feel that way about myself.

The 29th is my birthday. A local female small business I follow on FB caught a bunch of flack for selling bumper stickers and MAGA hats. I saved up my birthday money and went straight over there today and laid down $600, just because she took that risk. I hate people who try and shut down others. People are allowed to be different. And my husband is going over to that same business on Friday. We are going to keep supporting people who dare to stand up to the Obama hold overs. Because truth be known, ALL Obama did care about were people of color. He didn't give a damn about white people, in fact I believe he hated them.

I didn't enslave anyone. I don't do violence against anyone and I won't suck hind tit because someone did 200 years ago. I am a clean slate, I will fight for my right to say, feel and act in a way that reflects who I am.

C'mon now! Obama didn't just only care about people of color. Obamacare, as I recall, was for anyone without medical coverage, not just black and brown people. And no, Obama didn't hate white people. Half his family is white!
No, you didn't enslave anyone, and you shouldn't be held accountable for the actions of people long in the grave. That said, people in your part of the country glorify and make excuses for traitors who fought to keep black people enslaved, and WHO DID NOT FIGHT FOR STATES RIGHTS! It's for this reason that the south is saddled with the bad rep they have.

In the long fight, each little battle counts.

I have noticed with around 5 people seems their reason for being here is fighting and scoring points.

This of course is an easy "battle ground" since it's comprised of a handful of neurologically disabled people.

Much more likely to achieve that feeling of winning here, than in large social media outlets.

Winning ahhhhh feels so good - so NT.

This has to be the first I've heard of someone whining that it's unfair that someone is picking on someone else their own size, so to speak.

That's what the eau de vie was substituting for. It's distilled spirits, but literally means 'water of life'.

I'm saying it's much easier to kick ass here, for those who derive satisfaction from that, isn't it? It explains a lot with some. Explains why they go at things the way do, instead of just discussing a news story like mature adults. Scoring points and being part of a team.

And this is why you oppose universal health care, is it not? Because it would help the “rejects” as well as the “everyday, hardworking” people. And this is probably why you support work requirements and employer provided health care, it allows for a nice clean division of society into the worthy and the undeserving.

I oppose universal healthcare because you are asking for someone else to be responsible for what you, yourself cannot afford. We are owed nothing... Nobody is responsible for my well being but me.

Universal healthcare costs everyone less money and provides a better level of care. I know because I’m Canadian.

You’d rather pay more money to deny some of the poorest people in your country adequate healthcare than less money to provide decent healthcare for all?

Dude, do what you like. I'm just saying I'm not letting go of my Blue Cross/Blue Shield. That's it.

But what if eliminating the multiple tiers of profit in your insurance industry yielded a government option that provided you with the same or better coverage for the same or lower cost?

The only difference would be that everyone would have it.

And let’s not pretend that a gov’t system has to mean no more Blue Cross at all. I’m covered for all basics under our gov’t system, but I Also have extended benefits from Blue Cross via my construction union - which has excellent dental coverage, eyeglass coverage, pays for most of any prescription costs that are mine etc.

I have the best of both worlds And I bet it costs me less money than you And everyone is else at least has the Provincial gov’t coverage.

The only thing interesting about this is how you all think there is still a real debate going on here.

Hello liberals, telling other people they are bad and that they voted for an evil man is no way to change their minds. Didn't work when y'all voted for Obama, and it's not working coming from you guys either.

Hello conservatives, Trump isn't the exemplary president some make him out to be, and it's not just the left doing damage to the United States. However, you aren't the only group of people in America living a massive lie right now.

All right, now I'm installing electricity and putting the goats outside. You cool with that, or is everyone just sticking with butting heads and gaslighting?

Indeed, but it's quaint to hear you talk about it like you don't have a long history of exactly the behaviour you're calling out. You didn't mind it when you had more of a team, now that some of those guys don't participate in the forum you've flipped to trying to appear to be above it. It's not that you're wrong, it's just that you're a hypocrite.

I'd be a hypocrite too if I was calling it out and pretending to be above it. Someone like krafty might be in a viable position to make the arguments you're making without appearing hypocritical for it, but not you and not me.

There's no one here that I consider a team member or an ally or anything like that. You don't hear me talking about other members that way and using pronouns like "we" and "us".
Moreover those you try to lump me in with don't seem to either. There are just a handful of five or so people who are into that.

But I think I understand better now. Some aspies spent so much time trying to be included with NTs and competing with NTs, they ape the NT characteristics that go along with that.

To be fair I have put forward the serious theory that people in power create the environment conducive for this woman to act on her impulsive urges. I have also provided links to another erstwhile normal young family with children who thought it would be a good idea to aim live ammunition at black babies having a birthday party. What makes them so bold? I have provided one answer.

If you bemoan the lack of serious debate feel free to contribute otherwise go back to your goats

You're the one who did the lumping, at least initially from my experience. :?

I believe the NT trait you're referring to is possessing theory of mind enough to know who agrees with them on a specific matter.

I believe the government could create such an atmosphere....but not in this particular case.

The woman is a nutcase, and I’m glad she is in jail now. Trump didn’t create her madness, not induced her actions.

The OP didn’t create this thread with the intention of promoting some sort of agenda beyond the fact that the woman hit a person whom she thought was Mexican,

Don't worry, it's French not Latin.

agua is Old French, became eau by Middle French. I'm not even sorta bilingual, but I'm a nerd for linguistics and language history.
