Don't worry, it's French not Latin.

agua is Old French, became eau by Middle French. I'm not even sorta bilingual, but I'm a nerd for linguistics and language history.

The woman is a nutcase, and I’m glad she is in jail now. Trump didn’t create her madness, not induced her actions.

The OP didn’t create this thread with the intention of promoting some sort of agenda beyond the fact that the woman hit a person whom she thought was Mexican,

A person's psyche is influenced by many factors and even in the unlikely case this woman claimed she was a democrat her specific mental state plus listening to the news (honestly hard to avoid Trump in the news) can still tip her over.

I am strongly of the educated opinion she is a republican or sympathises with Trump. Reminds of a republican state officer who felt confident enough to post that it would be nice to have Melania as first lady instead of a gorilla in heels (meaning Michelle Obama). We know this person would never said that unless she felt Trump's presidency would give her a hall pass

I don't live in Quebec, so it really doesn't.

Quebec is largely Francophone, parts of New Brunswick and Eastern Ontario are bilingual, same with parts of Manitoba because a lot of Metis people are bilingual (or speak French/English and Cree) and besides that most of Canada is English only.

Eau De Vie is clear fruit brandy, I know about it because I have an interest in distilling. I know the origin because I love learning anything intersectional between my special interests.

Ok so this is a French version of Aqua Vitae? language context is often those of us ignorant of languages other than English. So water of life in the holy context might be different to the folk tales of Elixir of life....

Moreover those you try to lump me in with don't seem to either. There are just a handful of five or so people who are into that.

But I think I understand better now. Some aspies spent so much time trying to be included with NTs and competing with NTs, they ape the NT characteristics that go along with that.

You're the one who did the lumping, at least initially from my experience. :?

I believe the NT trait you're referring to is possessing theory of mind enough to know who agrees with them on a specific matter.

True I did lump about five unnamed people together. However what happened is people came forward and put their names to it. Lumped themselves in.

The NT trait I'm referring to is the being on a team kicking ass and scoring points with each other thing.

This recent post:

"If you bemoan the lack of serious debate feel free to contribute otherwise go back to your goats "

Is a good example of the NTish type mentality and behavior I am talking about.

I think so, but I'm not 100%. 'Water of life' is a common root for the names of distilled spirits. Whiskey/whisky comes from uisce beatha, Gaelic for 'water of life'. Vodka is a diminutive of voda, 'water' in Russian.

Most folks would call that 'teamwork' and it's instinctive for NTs and even for many people on the spectrum. It's not something that people who do need to think about consciously, it's just an inherent part of how their brains work.

Besides, if anyone has a problem with a thread not being constructive by their measures, why not try to contribute something constructive instead of just whining?

Along the lines of: "why don't you fight back instead of just crying you big baby".

You're being unreasonable when you complain about people who agree and know they agree behaving like they agree. There isn't a nicer way to put it.

Nicer? You mean like: "If you bemoan the lack of serious debate feel free to contribute otherwise go back to your goats "

Interesting how much that sounds like what you have been saying.

Do you all PM each other and come up with stuff like that?

No, I don't think Borromeo and cyberdad would team up like that. cyberdad called out Borromeo for failing to contribute constructively and then made a dig at Borromeo's comment:

I bet half of you would s**t your pants if you ever had to stand alone. You are a mob, you run in packs, alone you are impotent, which is a huge reason why I don't respect you. You're like a school of Piranha.

It's the similar wording and attitude between you and cyberdad and a couple of others that I'm talking about. The frequent use of the lol emote in a mocking way while delivering a snarky comeback. More of an interest in vanquishing than discussing.

Ever think that laughing at a ridiculous post is just a way of expressing that one finds what they're replying to silly, absurd or deserving of ridicule? Personally, I'd prefer to use a facepalm emote, since that's the one more suitable for a lot of posts on here.

If one poster said something well, often people who largely agree will invest less effort to support the already existing post instead of rehashing it. Among things, this is a courtesy to the person responding because it means you won't need to read the same thing repeatedly to pick out the few places they differ to respond to.

Oh heavens, No! Carry on in your disgusting cesspool of sameness...

You are not neurodiverse, you're fekkin' carbon copies of each other. In fact, I don't think you're ASD at all. "Meet one autistic person and you've met one autistic person," my ass. You guys are clones.

I'm on the spectrum, and have been diagnosed as such when I was 6. I spent much of my time in special ed in elementary and middle school.

But apparently, supporting universal health care and recognizing you need other people makes you not on the spectrum, or something...

Conservatives have always been pushing the myth of the indomitable individual. This in fact flies in the face of everything that history and anthropology tells us that humans have always survived as societies where people depend on one another, rather than as lone individuals.

Cue the token female member of the 'pack'

All I can say is that you may well be ASD, but here on WP, you are anything BUT diverse.

I thought you were a big supporter of cops and the troops? And yet here you're talking about the need for screw-other-people individualism?
